Hong Kong Disneyland, Hong Kong

The latest tourist attraction in Hong Kong: the Hong Kong Disneyland. It is absolutely a fantasy land but please don't expect this to be like other Disneylands in the world. This is a much much smaller one and exciting rides is not its attraction. In fact, only the Space Mountain could be considered as an exciting ride. But if you are looking for some fantasy and you have always enjoyed the shows in Disneyland, this one could serve your need.

1) Main Street, U.S.A.
The area for shopping!!! The shops are similar to what you got in other Disneylands with millions of souvenirs. The special characteristics is that this is the only Disneyland where they got a Chinese restaurant (the Plaza Inn), ran by the famous and largest local group Maxim's. Maxim's is famous for its high quality of food so you won't be disappointed here, although the price might be a bit expensive when compared to other Maxim's restaurant in Hong Kong. If you don't wanna waste time on eating (as it usually takes more than an hour to eat in a chinese restaurant), and want to go for something other than typical western fast food, I would recommend the bakery called "market house bakery" in the middle of the main street, which is also ran by Maxim's. The food inside is freshly made everyday with the choice of different types of bread, pastries and drinks. I personally would recommend the chinese traditional "egg tart", a pastry with sweeten egg yolk inside, and chinese milk tea. You could also enjoy seeing the chef making the egg tart in front of you.
Also, it is a good place to have a good picture of the sleeping beauty castle.

2) Adventureland
To the left of the end of the Main Street, you would find the adventureland.
> Festival of the Lion King:
This is a very fresh experience. The famous Disney movie "the Lion King" is transformed into this mini musical called the festival of lion king. In my opinion it is one of the best attractions in the Disneyland as this is very entertaining and the setting is also pretty good and beautiful.

> Rafts toTarzan Land and the Tarzan treehouse:
The raft is just the way to go to the Tarzan treehouse so there isn't much to mention. The Tarzan treehouse isn't very special in my opinion. But it would be worth a visit if you have enjoyed Tarzan as the places is telling the story of Tarzan.
> Jungle River Cruise:
An adventure to the jungle. The feeling on sitting on the boat is pretty adventurous but don't expect too much excitement from this. I would say this would worth a try but the excitement level very much depends on the commentator. Pay attention to the queues as it is divided into three parts: Cantonese, Mandarin and English commentary, so you may want to weight between the language of commentary and the length of the queue.
> Liki Tikis:
Follow the rhythm of the jungle drums to a circle of mysterious tikis that surprise unsuspecting explorers with refreshing blasts of water. Can have a walk and see if the water would catch you~

3) Fantasyland
> Mickey's PhilharMagic:
A must go!!!!! This 3-D show is definitely the best show in Disneyland. You will see all of your favorite characters, you will be actually "in" the scenes: you can smell the cake, you will be spilled by water and many more!!! No matter you are an adult or child, you will definitely enjoy it and don't laugh at others if they tell you they try to catch the food or diamond inside because you will do the same!!!

> Cinderella Carousel/ Mad Hatter Tea Cups/ Dumbo the Flying Elephant:
The more traditional ones which need little explanation.
Cinderella Carousel is the traditional merry-go-around, but you are traveling on prince charming's horse!!
Mad Hatter Tea Cups is the spinning in the tea cups.
Dumbo the flying elephant is where you could play in Dumbo's yummy~~
> The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh:
A storytelling time with the story of Winnie the Pooh and friends. Nice sitting in the honey mug with very colorful and eye-catching scenes.

> The Golden Mickeys at Disney's Storybook Theater:
In the form of an award ceremony, the famous and well-known disney characters and stories is brought on the stage. I have also enjoyed this show, particularly when I saw the beauty and the beast dancing in the ballroom scene. It is like the scene in the movie is brought to life!!!
> Fantasy Garden:
The place where you could take photos with the famous characters. There are 5 theme gardens here, with characters like Mickey, Minnie, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Goofy, Mulan etc. standing here waiting for you. Would be worth visiting if you don't mind the queuing time. A note would be the characters would not be here during the parade time but the queue would be shorter at that time. So again, you could weight the pros and cons according to your preference.

4) Tomorrowland
> Space Mountain:
If you are looking for the exciting rides, Space Mountain would be the one you are looking for (or more accurate, it is the only one which could satisfy your needs). Nothing more to say than "Disneyland's most famous ride".

> Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters:
A place where you could test your shooting skills on a 360 degrees movable seats. Very exciting and entertaining in fact. But might be more attractive to children than adult. Anyway, it is one of the latest and most popular ride nowadays,

> Orbitron:
Similar to the Dumbo Flying Elephant but an adult version and you are on the planets instead. An extra is that it is a good place to have a look at the Disneyland from the top.

for tickets, remember to book your tickets online at the hong kong disneyland official website first. alternatively you could go to the Hong Kong MTR station (same station as the Central station) and buy tickets. please be reminded that there will be tickets at the door but there's always a chance that tickets are sold out.
