Glamorous Stay In An Exciting City
Advantages: Superb Location, Beautiful Hotel Disadvantages: Being Pestered By Hawkers Outside
The Marco Polo Hong Kong has a definite Wow factor, one of three Marco Polo hotels incorporated in Harbour City the largest shopping centre in Hong Kong. The hotel foyer is shared with the entrance to the Armani shop and all around is top level designer brand names.
Check In
When we checked into the hotel we were told that our room was not ready for us. We were very politely asked if we would mind waiting in the lobby bar and given two complimentary ... ...shopping center. Café Marco - Breakfast
Every morning we had breakfast in Café Marco. An ultra modern, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated café on the second floor. You enter the Café from the lift and are seated immediately. Waiting staff offer you tea or coffee. To say the buffet style breakfast is multinational is an understatement. In the corner to the left a chef prepares and cooks everything for the great British fry up along with a ...

Great experience to see the 'real' Hong Kong
Advantages: Local culture Disadvantages: Beds are 'hard' to get used to
Stayed here in February 2008 before embarking on a cruise to Vietnam and China. If you want to experience a more authentic Hong Kong I would highly recommend it although it does come as a bit of a shock at first. I wouldn't say that this hotel is really in a tourist area at all although I loved it precisely for that reason. It is very easy to get to using the underground system (Prince Edward station is the closest) and is within easy walking distance ... ...see. The hotel itself is clean and well laid out. The room had a king bed with a small table and chair. The room including the bathroom was clean and had nice furnishings. The most important thing to be aware of is the bed. The mattress is incredibly firm and although it is possible to sleep on it ther is little if any mor cushioning than on a floor. We tried it the first night and then asked at reception for a different mattress. They had obviously ...

The perfect end to my holiday
Advantages: Big rooms, Great location, Cheap Disadvantages: None
...to save money by going the cheapest hostels we could. This was fine for the most part of the holiday, but for the last couple of days we decided to treat ourselves and pay a little extra (not that much more though) and stay at The Salisbury YMCA in Hong Kong. We stayed there for 2 nights and can say that we were both really impressed. Rooms The rooms were immaculate and huge compared to other places I've stayed at in Hong Kong. We had a twin room ... ...faculties, mini bar. The beds were your standard single size and very comfortable, there was also a desk and chairs in the room if you wanted to sit and do work or simply admire the view. The room was ensuite and was again of a very good size, fitted with both bath and shower. Towels and all of you toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, etc) were also provided. The nicest thing out our room however was the view....we opted for a partial harbour view (750HK$) ...

Eaton Hotel HK - Great location
Advantages: Great location Disadvantages: None
...a few minutes walk from Eaton Hotel. Once you come out from the hotel, you'd see 7-Eleven opposite the road. Turn right and you would come to the main road Nathan Road. Turn left and you would walk pass Starbucks. Keep walking straight and you will see the MTR sign after about 3 minutes. This is Exit B1 of the MTR station. You can also take the Exit B2 from the MTR station. It would lead you to the back of the hotel and the distance is shorter but ... ...into Pak Hoi Street).
There are also many taxis waiting right in front of the hotel so if you don't want to take the MTR, taxi is the next best alternative. You should seek assistance from the concierge (located on the ground floor next to the taxi stand) in telling the taxi driver your destination as taxi drivers might not be able to understand where you want to go. Pls also get a card from the hotel which has a map printed on it in case you need ...

The Royal Pacific Hotel has the best location in Hong Kong
Advantages: Very good location, view of Victoria Harbour Disadvantages: Front desk was slow. The buffet restaurant serves almost the same menu everyday.
...And just below it is the Hong Kong-Macao ferry wharf. But i think the front desk people were rather slow. When we checked in, it took us about 30 min to get through. It was a bit crowded. The rooms were rather small, but were well-appointed and clean. They have a great buffet but I would not recommend the guest to rely on it for all their meals during their stay. They just kind of repeat the menu everyday. Except for about 5 new recipes, everything ...
