HOOTERS - The Place I Want to go when I DIE
Introduction ************** For my friends twenty first birthday he wanted to go to Hooters for something to eat however I have a feeling it wasn’t because it had fantastic food but some fantastic women. In many American movies that I have seen Hooters is made out to be a famous chain of restaurants open where guys can go chill out and stare at what they love the most. I’d have to say the movies were right after seeing for my self. It does however make me wonder what their hiring policy is like. How can they just employ women that are attractive? Surely that is discrimination of some sort.
At the front door you are greeted by surprise surprise a woman that gives you a general direction in which to sit. The seats are stools with the tables raised high. Other tables having traditional tables.
Atmosphere ************** When I sat down I looked around the restaurant. I noticed framed pictures of newspaper articles of different events that have gone on over the years with Hooters girls in the middle of it all. Televisions in most areas of the restaurant showing mainly different sports.
When an order was received the waitress would go up to a counter where she would attach the order to a line above her head and throw the order towards the kitchen. The order would go along a line into the kitchen accross to the other side of the restaurant. I thought this was a very good gimmic. I had the feeling that the idea was to create a laid back and chilled out atmosphere.
Food ****** When looking at the menu there is a lot of choice to choose from however it is mainly burgers and fries. Very simple and traditional American foods. The prices are very reasonable if not cheap. When I went we managed to have four meals which added up to $60 for a reasonable amount of food. I thought this was excellent!
Family Friendly ****************** When looking around you find certain familys eating. I couldn't understand why wifes would allow thier familys to come here however they seemed to be satisfied with what they had and was having a good time.
Service ********** The service isn't bad to say the least. Even though the waitresses are beautyful which means theres always something to stair at I found that they weren't always willing to give you a smile or have a quick conversation with you however I guess their not really paid to do so but it would help to hold the Hooters image.
Conclusion *************** I would definitely recommend Hooters to anyone that just wants a good place to eat or a good place with a good atmosphere. I would recommend this to people of all ages including families.
As a heterosexual woman, I'm not all that sure I'd fit in. Perhaps time to consider opening my own, male-themed, restaurant? (Working title: 'Cocks') xx
That review actually left me strangely uncomfortable - especially the last sentence, not sure that my wife / female friends and relatives would agree with you, it all sounds a bit sexist to me! Richard.
