From the outside, (opposite Club CF1, Very close to The Welsh Club) The Horse and Groom doesn't look like much. It's quite shabby, and small looking, but the interior is a lot better. It's only a small pub, and often crowded on weekends, but in weekdays it's very quiet and atmospheric. There are large tables and comfortable seats, some right next to the bar and others far away so you get some peace and quiet.
The theme and decoration is that of horses, and the pub has a very atmospheric feel to it. Whilst there's good lighting, the pub does have a lot of dark shady corners, away from most of the people. There are decorations such as horse paintings, imitation horse equipment and troughs etc. on the walls, whilst the main structure is made of dark wood, and has a very authentic feel to it.
The pub is fairly cheap, and often does special deals on certain brands of shots, or on buying a jug of beer instead of pints. They sell a wide selection of spirits and beers, which you can usually buy in jugs, pints, half pints or bottles. The staff there are friendly and chatty.
There is a jukebox which stocks a huge range of music, from old rock, to new pop, and is cheap to use. There are also a variety of amusement machines towards one end of the pub, just in case you get bored. The pub does get quite lively and noisy on a Saturday or Friday evening, but it still the ideal place to start out. It's also great for the older people in the week, to have a pint after work of before going somewhere else, as weekdays it's very quiet and calm, just the kind of place you can relax in.
Advantages: able to touch and groom the horses great play areas Disadvantages: fair bit of walking if you do everything
horseworld is set in a beautiful location in a small village on the outskirts of bristol, whitchurch, it is located in the middle of a small lane.
they have an area where you touch the horses and they proved brushes so you can groom them which my daughters loved, as well as horses they have other farm animals such as pigs, sheep, chickens etc.
horseworld takes in rescue horses and for a small additonal charge you can take a tractor ride around the welfare department, and see where the horses are cared for.
they have a lovely indoor and outdoor play area, with swings and slide and indoors they have an aerial slide and ball pit. there are also peddle along tractors for the younger ones.
there are 2 presentastions a day and they offer pony rides as well.
they are open every day from 10am until 5pm, and it is £6 for adults £5 ...

A relaxing, comfortable atmosphere scores highly in my list of requirements from a restaurant, and it is in this area that the Merrow Dynasty is most successful.
The Dynasty looks nothing from the outside, just the usual Indian, in a parade of shops opposite the Horse and Groom pub. But those who used to visit the hardware shop that used to occupy the premises will know that once you get inside, it opens up into quite a large area behind the façade, and the current proprietor has converted it into a very comfortable, spacious and nicely appointed restaurant. The décor is mainly pale green rather than the usual Indian restaurant dark and dingy ruby. The chairs are well-upholstered and very comfortable and the tables are big enough to make you feel that you spread out and relax. Some of the table are round, making plenty of space ...
Advantages: Worthy Cause, Friendly Staff, lots to do. Free Parking Disadvantages: Must be a dry day as much of it is outdoors.
walk around the fields
Ferret House
All the animals are rescued and they all share their stories on their stables etc.. Some are really sad but uplfting seeing how far the have come.
Other activities:
Meet and Groom, Feeding time, Mini Horse show, tractor rides to the main farm and mucking out stables.
As you near the farther end of the centre, you will come to fields where there are more horses roaming freely, recently they have had a foal only a few days old basking in the sun with it's mother.
They have a soft play area, which our daughters love, with a death slide. An outside play area:
Sand pit
Climbing frame
Horse jumping equipment
Play house
Ride on Toys
And finally a Straw Den where kids can also play.
EVENTS
Regular events include: Easter Egg hunts, Mother/Fathers day meals. Charity fun ...
