Hostal Lami???? Where Is That

Advantages: Decent Cheap accomidation, Rooms are good enough for what we need, Nice View From The Window, Cheap
Disadvantages: No Taxi Drivers have any idea where it actually is, The description of The rooms when we booked.

As I'm sure some of you will be aware, I was in Barcelona for a long weekend to celebrate my 21st birthday, well one of the most important things, after booking your flights is finding a place to stay. And as one of the guys we were going with is at Uni, we needed to find something reasonable but cheap for the 4 nights we would be staying there. Well that's where the Hostal Lami comes in. Not exactly a Hostel more of a cheap hotel a bit like our Travel Lodge. Booking & Pricing *************** Obviously when we decided to go to Barcelona a couple of months ago we needed a decent place to stay so by chance having bought the flights through Opodo.co.uk there was a small advert for a hotel at just €38. That works out at roughly £25 a night, which when you consider hotels right in the centre were about €138 a night that ...

The bare essentials for a night's sleep in Barcelona

Advantages: Good, quiet location, cheap,
Disadvantages: No frills at all, could be noisy

As one would expect from a major European city, and one that attracts many, many visitors, Barcelona has plenty of hotels to choose from. Being a money conscious (mean) traveller, I was looking for something cheap but also not too far from the centre as I was not going to be there long and didn?t want to travel from the outskirts of town. After some research we plumped for the City Urquinaona and, wanting to save more money, booked directly using the hotel?s website rather than through the hostel booking site where we?d first found the hotel. We paid a small deposit and stated roughly what time we?d be arriving. In return we received two e-mails; one was an automatic confirmation, the other a personal message from a staff member confirming the booking and that our arrival time was OK ( we were taking an evening flight to Girona and from ...

A Barcelona Hostal with kitchenette

Advantages: Location, family travel, suites with kitchenette, their travel guide, budget prices, language skills, wifi, service
Disadvantages: Check in closes at midnight, no laundry on premises,

We live in the northern part of Spain like to travel with our kids. We have a small one year old baby and we definitely are not rich. So we started looking for a family friendly lodging with a central location and a budget price. Voila. We found this Hostal Residencia Australia, run by Australians, with an awesome family history. They fled to Australia during the Spanish Civil war and came back to Spain after Franco died. Maria the owner is actually Honorary Mayor president of Baton Rouge LA and John, one of the sons, is a professor at L.S U. My wife and myself said to each other that this must be a place with character. We were not wrong it was a very interesting experience. Apart from that the rooms are lovely , clean and the location is perfect right about 100 metres from the Ramblas and right on the bus route from ...
