Hot Press Irish Music Hall of Fame, Dublin

I recently visited Dublin with a group of friends, and in a little corner of a leaflet we noticed an advert for the Irish Music Hall of Fame. There was a spare, unfilled of a day, so we went to find it. It's tucked away on a street just off O'Connell Street (the main street in the city centre), but was not difficult to find. The entry prices were not expensive, about a fiver for adults, but the had student prices! What an added bonus!

...as we weren't crowded, but a shame because it is a fantastic place, but there is liitle publicity about it.
Inside there is a huge exhibition on the history of Irish music, from traditional to modern day, but not quite so modern as at the time they were only up to Boyzone, but maybe now they have included the great ones Westlife! If you are a U2 fan however, you will be impressed, as a great deal is devoted to them.

There is a lot of memoribilia, and a mini cinema where a film is shown, made up of interviews with big Irish stars, ranging from Bono and Sinead O'Connor to Enya and Ronan Keating.
Included in the ticket price, you receive a tape recorder and headset, which takes you on a guided tour of the history. This is a good thing as you don't get bored by living guides, and they are quite high tech in that there are zones, and as soon as you skip into a new zone, the tape skips as well. Quite hard to explain, but a good thing!
If you are a fan of Irish music, then this would be an ideal place to visit, perhaps on a rainy day, as there is a lot to see. It is more orientated towards adults, but the kids may enjoy the Boyzone stuff!
