Barcelona is probally one of the most beautifull cities i have ever been to. This hotel is in Prime location on las ramblas which is one of the if not the most famous streets in the city. You are a minutes if not less walk from the main plaza and leading of la rambla there are a multitude of beautifull cobble stone streets just waiting to be explored. On our first night we just started walking and we found ourselves eating dinner in a little hidden church square. Every detail of the city is exquisite even the parts of the city they don't show you on the tourist routes. The Hotel 1898 is perfect as you realy are in prime location. The rooms, even the cheapest, are all emaculately clean and very tastefully decorated in a simple black or white, or some rooms are white and red i think, decor. The bathrooms are beautifull with a marble finish. The only thing i would say is that they do not supply conditioner so you have to bring your own, but they complementary slippers are nice!!!! There is even a starbucks slap bang next door so you don't feel too far away from civilization. The downstairs lounges are beautifull and again very clean... not a spec. The best thing about the hotel is the roof pool and bar, at night you get the most panoramic vista of barcelona, you see the city at it's best. The streets are all lit up. The actually roof is so georgus itself and decorated very luxuriously. The spa is also not to be faulted, again they have another pool inside decorated like an ancient grecian bath house. All in all i thouroghly enjoyed my stay here and i would recomend it to anyone a million times over.
