Advantages: Beautiful hotel, beautiful location Disadvantages: Let down by food
I stayed at this great hotel about a year ago. It also claims to be a spa hotel, although we didnt tryany of the treatments available. So unfortunately I cant comment on the 'spa' part!
Overview
-------------
This beautiful hotel is in Soller. It is housed within a beautiful old building, which according to the owners has been a house and another, run down, hotel before that.
Location
-----------
The hotel is near to the main square in Soller, which is about half an hour from Palma, up in the hills away from all th etacky tourist resorts. Its set back from a quiet(ish) street, but is close enough to the main restaurants etc in the town
Room
---------
There are about 35 rooms in total. Our room was great, although a tad small. It was very modern, with crisp white sheets and great smart, neutral decor. We had a lovely ...
I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal.
PRICE:
Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time ...
Advantages: Stunning views, beautiful trains Disadvantages: Crowds at peak periods - something that would be more enjoyable at quieter times

So I told her we were going to go to Palma and keeping things suitably vague, took a bus from outside our hotel to the Estacio Intermodal in central Palma. From there I crossed the street to the station for the Ferrocarril de Soller (FS), a historic railway that links Palma with the town of Soller on the west coast of the island.
The railway dates from 1912 and was originally built to transport lemons and oranges from the groves on the island to the ports ...
