Advantages: First class service, spacious rooms, clean and tidy Disadvantages: Perhaps not so family-friendly
...This is the largest hotel in the city of Gothenburg. Don't expect a hotel the size of the Waldorf Astoria in New York or the Bellagio in Las Vegas. It's a little more compact than that, however, it is a wonderful hotel that I would recommend to anyone visiting Gothenburg.
The hotel is in a nice area of the city and there is a theme park practically on your doorstep. The hotel is easily identifiable from most parts of the city with its two towers.
As you enter the hotel it is clear that you have paid for a little bit of class. The lobby is huge and the greeting you receive from your hosts will leave a very good impression. The people at Gothia Towers are well trained to be very helpful and they execute the hotel ethos with aplomb. And I am not just referring to the reception staff. The bar staff, waiters, waitresses, room...

Advantages: DECENT LOCATION WITHIN THE CITY Disadvantages: THERE ARE CHEAPER ALTERNATIVES
...I visited this hotel when i visited Gothenburg recently. As you walk in to the massive lounge you are greeting by wonderful decor and staff that are immacuatley turned out.
I made the mistake of not booking in advance and despite there being a boat convention on in the hotel (which was attracting people from around the world) and it being 9pm in the evening the lady at reception went out of her way to find me a room after it was initially found to be full.
My room did not have the best view in the world, and i found my bed uncomfortable (it was a hard matress and i prefer soft) but, again, the decor and bathroom were worth the eur 150 a night we were staying.
On the ground floor was a wonderfully decidant lounge bar which served a mixture of cocktails, wines, spirits and beers. The drinks are not cheap...

Advantages: The easy internet connection, room was very nice Disadvantages: Had to walk for a while to get to the room
...This review of the hotel will be a bit limited as I only stayed there for one night in April 2007. I arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning so this is merely my impression of the room and check in/check out.
I went to Gothenburg on a short company trip in April 2007. I took a taxi from the airport to the hotel. The taxis seem to operate on fixed prizes and I think I paid about 320 SEK (about 47 $) for the drive. At least it contained some excitement as the driver came up to 160 km/h (about 100 mph) on the highway into town…in a Volvo of course.
The check in was fast and then I went looking for my room…257 I think it was. To avoid strangers getting in one must use the room key to open the elevator. The rooms are spread out in a big square with an atrium in the middle. My room was of course located on the far side...
