HORRIBLE PLACE !!
Advantages: nothing Disadvantages: EVERYTHING
...
First, finding the hotel was quite complicated, because it is situated on the outskirts of a village (San Antonio). In addition, beaches are made of rocks.
When we arrived at the hotel, they gave us the keys of our apartments, but when we entered in we discovered that they were studios without any room. We came back immediately to the reception, and they told us that there wasn't any free apartment, despite having booked and ... ...expensive!). Many customers of the hotel have had the same problems as us.
After that, let's write about the rooms: dark, very dirty, a lot of spiders, lacking furniture, cutlery, kitchen tools, filthy bathroom with humidity, TV only takes a couple of channels. In addition, TV was hung above the bed, so you couldn't see it when you were on your bed (What a stupid idea!). The kitchen didn't work properly, cutlery and glasses were very ... more
These are the apartments in Ibiza where we have been this summer. We were 15 friends. In their website, everything looks great. However, when you get there, it is quite different. When we came back home, we complained to Consumer Affairs. I am writing this review to give you true information about that place. No one should be fooled by photos or the website, because a lot of things you can read there are false.
First, finding the hotel was quite complicated, because it is situated on the outskirts of a village (San Antonio). In addition, beaches are made of rocks.
When we arrived at the hotel, they gave us the keys of our apartments, but when we entered in we discovered that they were studios without any room. We came back immediately to the reception, and they told us that there wasn't any free apartment, despite having booked and paid for them four months ago. The problem was overbooking, which is illegal and we have denounced it. Finally, they gave us studies for a cheaper price with half board to try to compensate us. Nevertheless, the restaurant is in another building, the food is low quality, you cannot have dinner after 9 p.m. (How strange in Spain!), and you must pay 2 € each time for a small bottle of water because you cannot take your own drink into the restaurant (How expensive!).
The kitchen didn't work properly, cutlery and glasses were very dirty. We had to ask for cutlery, glasses, a table, chairs. They didn't have skillets. We had to fry in a pot jaja. I still remember the huge black mark on the roof of the shower (How disgusting!). The door had no lock, terraces without privacy, noise and screams throughout the hotel all day and night, damaged buildings.
The pools were small, dirty, and without showers! An incredible lack of hygiene. Gardens were only a little grass and a few plants.
Then, I must write about cleaning the room. The waitresses got into the room anytime without asking, and the rooms were as dirty as before. They only scrubbed the floor, changed towels by other ones that were dirty, and made the beds. They didn't do anything else.
About the supermarket, it was small and everything was quite expensive. The other shops were even more expensive.
Nearby beaches were very uncomfortable: full of rocks and dirty. We had to walk a lot to find a better beach, but the water was still dirty.
Next, I'm going to write about the website of the hotel (http://www.hotelclubmaritim.com/index.html), which contains a lot of false information:
-The hotel was allegedly refurbished 2 years ago, but it is very deteriorated and dirty, so it looks rather old.
-It is not located in a fairly quiet residential area. Nobody lives there. You will only find shops, bad hotels, bars, and people shouting.
-The kitchen has no microwave, you can rent it for € 25 per week. The fridge doesn't have a door for the freezer, you can rent it for € 15 per week in order to avoid freezing the entire fridge (Amazing!). As for the bathroom, it is quite simple and you need to bring your own products and tools. Satellite TV only takes 2 channels. By the way, you must pay a € 10 franchise for the remote control of the TV, and another € 10 franchise for the remote control of the air conditioning. The rooms don't have safe, you can rent it in the reception for € 3 per day. You don't have telephone.
-Do not be fooled by the photos because the reality is quite different. The hotel has only 2 stars, but in my opinion it should have only one.
-The hotel has no elevator, but two staircases in poor conditions.
Finally, this hotel belongs to Grupo Playa Sol, and I wouldn't suggest to anyone staying in any of its hotels (http://www.grupoplayasol.com/front/en/home.html). They deleted my review about that hotel in their web because they didn't like it of course. However, they wouldn't be able to delete this review, whose purpose is to inform about that place.
After that, the group contacted the hotel manager, who accused us of vandalism in his hotel. That's obviously false! He said that the neighbors called the police because of the noise and disturbances! I remember that we were ones of the less noisy clients of the hotel, and one day we had to go to the reception because there was a lot of noise made by other clients in the hallway. The hotel manager has already read this review in ciao and obviously he didn't like it, but it is his hotel, so it is his problem.
I live in Spain and there are a lot of better places for the same price. Ibiza is not a good investment. Levante beaches (Valencia, Alicante,…) are much better. However, if you want to visit Ibiza, please choose another hotel.
Advantages: quiet location for the area Disadvantages: Hostel not hotel
...of the staff in the hotel could speak much English (or didn't want too), which made communication extremely difficult.
However, before we could get to the room several of the corridors in the block we were being directed to ( and I believe some rooms) were flooded due to the fire alarm and sprinkler being set of and no-one in the hotel knowing how to stop the alarm. Some of the corridors had towels and mattresses placed across the bottoms of doors ... ...No attempt was made by hotel staff to evacuate the hotel, guests were simply told that the alarm would be stopped and that they should return to their rooms.
There were no lifts and everything that is listed is "extra" with the exception of TV, which we were only able to watch SKY News (not really a problem as we were on holiday).
I would not regard the Club Maritim as a hotel more of a hostel. Although it was generally clean and reasonably well ...
