Having just returned from the holiday in Ibiza (Hotel Club Maritim), I feel you should be made aware of the following.
Due to an error somewhere in the booking, we were told on arrival (at around 4:30am) that we were not expected and that no room was available to us until 12 noon.
We were eventually offered a room which was of very poor quality, which we refused, and were eventually offered a suitable room, even though no dining table was available even though one was requested at reception the following day (something which I think you will agree is a necessity for a self-catering holiday).
None of the staff in the hotel could speak much English (or didn't want too), which made communication extremely difficult.
However, before we could get to the room several of the corridors in the block we were being directed to ( and I believe some rooms) were flooded due to the fire alarm and sprinkler being set of and no-one in the hotel knowing how to stop the alarm. Some of the corridors had towels and mattresses placed across the bottoms of doors to stop the flooding getting any worse. In fact, the only way that the sprinkler system was stopped was by turning off the water to the whole of the hotel. There was no evidence anywhere of fire or smoke, and at no time did any emergency services arrive at the hotel. No attempt was made by hotel staff to evacuate the hotel, guests were simply told that the alarm would be stopped and that they should return to their rooms.
There were no lifts and everything that is listed is "extra" with the exception of TV, which we were only able to watch SKY News (not really a problem as we were on holiday).
I would not regard the Club Maritim as a hotel more of a hostel. Although it was generally clean and reasonably well maintained, it offered the very basic in accommodation with nowhere to eat and drinks were only available at very restricted times. As far as we were concerned, it was a place to sleep and nothing more.
