Troy was a breath-taking film with a brilliant plot (admittedly based on a legend), amazing characters and some amazing special effects.
Story
The story was well written and believable, however, it is based on a historical legend and is not the work of the makers of the film, so while I liked it, I can't give anybody credit for it. The story was also refreshing in that the good guys lost, which is original.

Characters/ performances
This film had an amazing set of characters portrayed by some truly gifted actors such as Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom. There was a nice mix of brave, selfless heroes and some twisted villains. However, the film also impressed me in that it didn't see characters in black and white as many films do and there was good within evil and evil within good. There was also something to look ...

Advantages: Clean room, comfy bed, location for exploring Disadvantages: Unhelpful staff, streets full of beggars and thieves, theft, no safe, expensive Wi-Fi
World Business Research recently invited me to attend the European Homeland Security Conference 2007, a chance to get together with various people from around the world to discuss terrorism, the threats each country faces and how to policies can be developed and adapted to make Europe a safer place. This year the conference was held in Brussels and as the taxpayer would be picking up my hotel and travel bills when it came to finding accommodation the conference hotel was ruled out due to the 5* rating and I was directed to finding something 3* or below. Using Expedia I trawled through literally hundreds of hotels to find somewhere that was 3*, in a central location with rooms that looked both spacious and clean. Eventually I booked 2 nights bed and breakfast at the HotelArlequin at a cost of £95 per night.

Review of ?Troy? 2 Disc Special Edition DVD
The DVD
I am reviewing the 2 disc special edition of the DVD. The movie was produced in 2004 by Warner Bros. Pictures. The movie received mediocre praise from the critics for the retelling of Homer's ?The Iliad?. The storyline is fairly loosely based on The Iliad, and Hollywood has used it's artist license to add to the tale.
The Special Edition consists of the 2 discs, one being the actual movie and the other a very interesting mixture of special effect techniques used in the production, an analysis of the battle scenes, a 3D animated guide to Greek myths and a look at the design of the sets used and the comparisons between Greek temples and ruins of the time.
