We went to Cyprus for the first time last December. We stayed in Limassol at the Hotel Atlantica Bay.
My Review on the Hotel Atlantica Bay, which is a Thomson Gold property.
The Hotel was excellent, although rather large it was very welcoming, friendly and relaxing, the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.
The public areas were really well decorated, with lots of marble being used, especially in the lobby leading to the restaurants, which also had a lovely fountain and marble statues lining the walls.
All meals were served buffet style in a large well laid out restaurant. The food was excellent with a great deal of choice for each course, which comprised of starters, hot and cold main courses and desserts.
The pool area was well laid out, with a very large free form swimming pool which was unheated, and a smaller heated pool which was really pleasant to swim in. Both pools had plenty of sun loungers, and plenty of greenery eg palm trees and plants.
There was also a large pool bar serving both hot and cold drinks, which was open all day.
The hotel bedrooms where large and very well furnished. We had a room upgrade which included lots of extras, including tea & coffee making facilities, fresh fruit every day, bathrobes & slippers, full music system etc.
The hotel had it's own private beach, which was reached by an underpass joined to the hotel. In the summer months there is a beach side bar, offering hot/cold drinks and various snacks.
This hotel was classed as a adults only hotel, at the time of year that we went, but I do believe that in summer children are welcome.
*** Now for the bad points...
The entertainment left a lot to be desired, catering mainly for the over sixties. The hotel was quite a way out of Limassol, which meant you needed to take a bus or a taxi if you wanted to visit any of the bars, or go into the centre of Limassol.
Limossol itself was very dirty, and all the shops and bars were really spaced out, so it meant a lot of walking.
The beaches were very narrow and made up from pebbles.
*** My Over all view.
We booked through TV Travel Shop, and stayed on an all inclusive basis, which we found to be more than worth the money. Half board is also available.
The hotel was great, the food was great. I could not complain about either. A great hotel to go to, if you just want a nice relaxing break, spent by the pool.

Good opinion - very easy to read. I went to Paphos last year and spent a day at a water park in Limassol - what an excellent time. I'm a real Cyprus fan now!
