Advantages: Great location, good price, free internet and well appointed rooms Disadvantages: Not for those looking to party
Have just returned from a Conference in Tallinn and had the pleasure to stay in the Uniquestay Hotel. The price was £41 which was great especially as I took my 18yr old son so needed 2 rooms. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful and from the very first impressions it was a wise choice. My room was large, well decorated with wooden floors, tea and coffee making facilities and free computer and internet access. Breakfast was in their lovely restaurant and had a great choice even for vegetarians. The location was brilliant, just a short walk through a lovely park to the old town which is great for a city break with plenty of museums, lots of history, shopping centres, restaurants etc- would definitely visit again ...
Advantages: The residue of earlier centuries Disadvantages: The residue of the Soviet era

As usual, we aimed to seek out local fare. Estonian food is not noted for its ...

Advantages: lovely historic city Disadvantages: may be limiting if you want a big city scene
Earlier this year, we were searching for somewhere new to go for our annual 2 week holiday. In previous years we have mostly stayed in Dorset (UK) and France, and I have travelled a lot elsewhere in Europe. My son goes to football practice every Saturday and one of the other Dads suggested Switzerland.
Immediately I could think of many reasons not to go there - its too upmarket, too expensive and surely its not going to be as hot as say the Mediterranean or the Costas?
However I got a guide book and it seemed Switzerland had got a lot to offer - the Alps obviously, cycling and walking countryside, loads of Lakes (where the weather looked promising), culture, shops, historic cities and loads of scenic railway routes which would appeal to my son.
We booked a self-catering chalet about 10 miles from Bern, and decided to take the car ...
