Cheap no frills hotel catering for the 18-30 crowd. Brisa is used mainly by British tourists and is NOT family friendly due to the constant noise, music and swearing! Saying that the whole resort of San Antonio is not family friendly so it's no wonder that very few hotels here cater for families.
The hotel is conveniently located about a 15 minute walk from the west end where most of the bars and shops are and also equal distance from the more upmarket (and expensive) sunset strip of bars and restaurants (Cafe Del Mar, Mambo etc). It is situated in a residential area and is about a 20 minute drive from the airport. The surrounding area is pretty quiet but the hotel itself is not!
The noise would have to be my main criticism of this hotel - it was constant. Whether it's the music pumping out from the poolside bar or the shouting and door slamming that goes on all throughout the night as people come back from their night out. If you know anything about San Antonio, then you'll know that most of the people that go there are there for a party! People will usually go out at midnight and come back at any time between 5 - 9 am, depending how much drink they could afford/handle. Also, some friends in other rooms had to put up with people having rather loud sex in the next room so the noise can be a problem!
The hotel rooms were ok, fairly standard but clean and acceptable if all you want your room for is a few hours sleep. The bed was comfortable and there was an air conditioning unit if you wanted to pay the 35 euros a week to use it. There was toilet paper, bath towels and drinking glasses so pretty much everything you need.
The cleaners came around at about 10am each day - way too early if you've been up all night drinking or just kept awake by all the noise! The whole time I was there, they didn't knock the door but just let themselves in only to find me still in bed. They would then just come back later when I was up and out. I could have done with a 'do not disturb' sign! And whilst I'm talking about being disturbed, on your final day, check out time is 12pm. I knew this so I set my alarm for 11am. At 10.30am I got a phone call from reception to tell me that check out time was 12pm - making sure I was awake! Then at 11am, the cleaners went around banging on all the doors - again to make sure we were awake. No chance of being alseep though I can tell you that.
The pool was very nice, quite big - maybe 15-20m and was nice and deep. It also had a paddling pool for lounging about in. There were lots of sun beds and chairs around the pool on 2 levels which are occupied all day every day from an early time.
Food and drink was quite good considering the hotel is a 2 star. Drinks were reasonably priced - cheaper than the bars in town and food was basic but suprisingly good. Breakfast is served fairly early but it's no big loss if you sleep through it - just coffee, bread, meat and cheese.
The staff (apart from the cleaners) were all very friendly and all speak good english. They seemed quite tolerant to the drunken antics that go on but I guess they are well used to that by now.
Other facilities include 4 pool tables, pinball, vending machines, payphones, 2 computers with internet and a lift to save you walking/falling up the stairs.
Prices for this hotel seem to vary according to demand and how busy they are. We got ours quite cheap (£45 per room per night) but other people there had paid a lot more. It would be worth shopping around to find the best price. We got ours from Thompson.
Overall, this is an OK hotel if all you want is a cheap place to stay that is close to all the bars and nightlife. If you actually want to relax and get some sleep then this hotel (and San Antonio) is not for you. Also, I am 33 years old and was the oldest person there by at least 10 years!

Your review of this hotel makes it sound very close to hell in my book.....what was I saying about becoming conservative in my old age? Richard.

Great review! I agree that the usual hotel noise can get very annoying, probably ppl think everybody likes music so loud and if you don't, you're a prude...
