Advantages: Clean, comfy, modern Disadvantages: Very expensive restarant and bar, rather sad swimming pool and gym
This hotel in in the centre of Bristol within waling distance of Temple Meads Station. If you know Bristol then you will know that this location then might mean convenience but it's not gorgeous - a lot of Bristol was bombed in the war and rebuilt in the 50s and 60s and it shows! The hotel itself is newer than that though, but when you arrive it does look a bit tired and in need of a facelift.
Parking is available and not difficult, though like most city centre budget hotels you have to pay extra for it, but I thought the £3.50 a night quite a good rate. It seemed a secure car park.
.
I checked in swiftly and the receptionist was helpful and friendly. I paid £104 a night for two people for an executive double (i.e. one grade up from the standard one) over the internet before we went. The hotel has a lot of floors (we were ...
Advantages: Central location at very reasonable price Disadvantages: None really
This hotel has got to be one of the best kept secrets when it comes to staying in Vienna. The city is so compact that it is easy to explore on foot and the family run Hotel Post is one of the most economic places to stay in the central Ring area of Vienna. You are less than 10 minutes walk from the Stefansdom, Kaerntnerstrasse and the Graben and there's a subway (U-Bahn) station - Schwedenplatz about 3 minutes from the hotel, as well as stops for numerous different tram-lines. So everything is within easy reach for tourists wanting to fit in as much as possible during their visit.
The Hotel Post is an older style of hotel and perhaps not as luxurious as some of the more modern hotels in the city, however, rooms are spotlessly clean, large, with usual features and more than good value for the price. Continental style buffet ...
Advantages: Large rooms, clean, with firendly staff. Disadvantages: 10 minute walk to shops and cathedral
The Hilton Vienna Plaza is an excellent hotel located on the Ringstrasse in Central Vienna, I will talk more about the hotels location later on. Before I arrived at the hotel I emailed the manager with a few questions about the local area and the hotel etc. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and I received an email back with all of my questions answered which was helpful. It took around twenty minutes to get to the hotel from the Airport, although on my way back to the airport at the end of my stay it took about thirty minutes because of heavier traffic.
Check-in was fast and very efficient, the hotel staff were friendly and gave me a map of the local area. I booked to stay in a standard king room, the rooms at the hotel are a very nice size. The bed was very comfortable and there was a chaise longue, desk, television, safe, tea ...
