Advantages: The lift was quite close to our room, so we could get out of there nice and quickly. Disadvantages: Food poisoning, no sleep, unhelpful staff.

Worst hotel experience ever. Basic is one thing, but the staff were unhelpful at best, invisible when you needed them, the food gave both inhabitants of our room violent upset stomachs, and the incessant noise throughout the night, caused by some shockingly foul antics in the corridor behind our room. This went on all night (I was glad of our 4am departure), and the staff (there must have been some somewhere, even if I couldn't see them) did nothing about, despite the enormous disruption and anxiety this caused to many of our party. There was not a single aspect of that stay which I found to be satisfactory. The rude antics that went on were of particular concern, as these could have been seriously upsetting to families, young children, elderly guests or really anyone who is an anxious type. As it was, the mature and responsible school party I was with found it a tough experience. The worst part was the complete ignorance of the hotel staff to it, as they entirely neglected their duty to ensure a pleasant stay for their guests. It was certainly not what I expected in a hotel that had a reasonably good name, and not even 'Well, it is a basic hotel' would cover it. I wasn't expecting luxury, but my experience was well below the acceptable standard of a decent hotel. Never again
Advantages: great location and value for money Disadvantages: size of rooms
I stayed in this hotel during easter 2008. I took a party of 30 pupils on a school trip to Iceland. This hotel is conveniently located with easy drop of for coaches. The reception staff were very helpful at all times regarding any matters. The rooms are cosy to say the lest, probably the smallest rooms i have come across however we were not there to sample the rooms. Bathrooms were clean and of an acceptable size. Views from rooms varied gratefull, ... ...or a stunning view if you are at front of building. Close walking distance to pizza hut, restaurants and there is a petrol station with shop across the road including a subway restaurant. Location for whale watchibng was also very close. The breakfast was simple but adequate. Dinners were the same, packed lunches made for us were large. Overall recomended for familes or schools. ...
