Hotel Campanile, Ghent

Advantages: nice rooms
Disadvantages: nothing major

...After deciding to take a trip to Glasgow for a few days, my husband and I set out to find a good value hotel. After looking at the usual Travelodges and Premier Travel Inns, we came across the Campanile hotel which is like the French version of Travelodge. It was 52 pounds a night and had a secure car park, something which we found very good as parking in Glasgow tends to be quite expensive. Although the price was good we decided to shop around and managed to book 3 nights for 122 pounds on Expedia. The location of the hotel was very good as it was in the newly upgraded and developed area near the SECC and surrounding the hotel was luxury apartments, the new Clyde Arc bridge, the new STV and BBC Scotland studios and the SECC and Glasgow Science Centre. Advantages: clean, tidy, good service and price
Disadvantages: need a taxi to get into town

...I have been on two different Christmas Shopping bus trips and both times have stayed at the Ghent Holiday Inn. The price of each trip was £99 inclusive of bus travel, ferry crossing and two nights accomodation at the Holiday Inn. LOCATION +++++++++ The Holiday Inn Ghent is around 60km from Brussels and is situated in central Belgium which makes it ideal to explore the country. It is near the intersection of the E17 and E40 motorways. It is 65km from Ostend airport in Holland and 62km from Antwerp airport . On the first trip that I went on we visited Valkenburg and Ostend in Holland, and Aachen in Germany and each day we made good time and were not rushed at all. Advantages: The buffet, clean and tidy rooms, good value.
Disadvantages: Nothing to do, heavy smoking and a good 40 minutes drive away from Disney.

...Campanile Paris-Est Nogent sur Marne Quai du Port France After a recent visit to Disney land Paris (December 2006), we stayed at a Campanile Hotel in Nogent sur Marne. It is situated just outside the city, along the river Marne, in the countryside near Paris. We had no idea what the hotel would be like until we arrived but I was assured it was at least a 2* establishment. The tour company gave me the name and address prior to leaving the UK but I could not find many detailed photographs on the internet. www.expedia.co.uk gave a view of the front of Campanille and the descriptions given on various sites were mostly the same, "Modern with restaurant, coffee shop and bar; multilingual staff; situated in the city near public transportation". Apparently there are rooms for the disabled but these have to be pre-booked as well... Read review
