The Botanical Garden in Cluj-Napoca has been one of my favourite places as a student. I used to spend hours there learning or just relaxing. In springtime the garden is quite awesome.
- Few information-
The Garden is over 40 hectares in area, with over 10 000 plants. The most interesting attractions are the Japanese Garden ( with a brook and Japanese-style house), The Roman Garden with a statue of
Ceres, goddess of cereals and bread, the hothouses with hundreds of exotic plants. When you are in Cluj-Napoca, don`t forget to visit it!

Advantages: beautiful Gothic building, St. George statue in front Disadvantages: being restored
The reformed church of Farkas street ,as the old people of Cluj call it ,attires your attention first through it`s old and special aspect but also through the St. George statue in front of it. I still remember this was the first building that impressed me when I started my studies to Cluj-Napoca.
This little church is also built in Gothic style like other few old churches here and had a tumultuous history as many other buildings in Transylvania. Being a region of language and religion interferences ,
buildings suffered as people because of wars and religious dissensions .

As a student in the 90`s, I used to go frequently to the Hungarian Theatre and Opera House with my mates.Besides of having a lot of fun, we appreciated the atmosphere and quality of theatre plays and operas. So we could see the famous Ionesco play "The Bald primadonna" , Bela Bartok`s " The blue beard prince`s castle" opera, and a lot of other plays.
-A little history-
The theatre was founded in 1794 and was Transylvania`s first Hungarian theatre company. Today , as Transylvania is part of the modern Romania, functions as a repertory theatre, performances being presented in Hungarian. If you ask, simultaneous translations in Romanian and English are also available.
