Found more often on Dooyoo under the same name. I find Ciao a bit slow, but if you have rated my reviews, thank you and I will return the favour at some point. Thanks to everyone who rated my Sequoia Lodge review exceptional, it's much appreciated :O)
This hotel is situated in the resort of Disneyland Paris. It is located approximately 15 minutes walking distance or 2 minute shuttle bus ride from both the Disneyland Park and the Studios Park and around 10 minutes walking distance or 2 minute shuttle bus ride from Disney Village.
The Hotel
The Cheyenne is a 2 key (star) Disney hotel. Rather than one large hotel, The Cheyenne is made up like a village from the wild west. It is cowboy themed and has many different 2 storey buildings set out in an L shape with the services in the middle.
The Rooms
The wild west theme is continued to the interior of the hotel, where the rooms have a cowboy boot lamp and are decorated with a cowboy border. The rooms are designed to sleep four. There
is a double bed and a set of bunk beds. You can also request a cot to enable the room to sleep a baby of up to three years in addition to the four the room is designed to take. The rooms are very clean and fresh and very comfortable although they can be a little on the small side for a family of five which we were.
Each room is equipped with a tv and telephone. There is an area to hang clothes etc as you enter the room and there is a bathroom with toilet, sink and bath with overhead shower.
Rooms are cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. Clean towels and soap and shampoo's are replenished daily too.
Services
There is a restaurant called the Chuck Wagon. This is rather large but can get very busy. There is a bar called the Red Garter Saloon where cocktails are served along with a variety of other drinks. There are also non-alcoholic cocktails for the little cowboys and cowgirls. There is also a shop (The General Store), an arcade games room, a Bureau De Change and a laundrette. There is also two play areas for the children, one outside the restaurant and bar which is a giant sand area with a wagon and a bucking bronco. The other is at the back of the hotel next to the path to the parks which has indian teepee's and a park type area with see saw, swings etc called Fort Apache.
During the day there are pony rides from outside the services area (for an extra charge) and you can hire pedal carts to pedal up and down the village.
Getting to the Village/Disney Parks
There are two ways to get to the parks and village. There is a free shuttle bus that departs from outside the reception area every 5-10 minutes. The bus journey is about two minutes and it ends at the train station which is situated in between the parks and the village. The shuttle bus can get very busy first thing in the morning and when the parks close, so we definitely preferred to walk when we were there. Trying to get two small children, a baby and a pushchair on a bus at rush hour in Disneyland is something I certainly wouldn't recommend to anyone! The walk is lovely, past Lake Disney and you get to walk past all the other hotels in the resort and wonder through the village, soaking up the Disney feel. It took us about 10-15 minutes walking at the pace of a 4 year old.
Checking in
We arrived at the hotel late in the morning and check in was extremely busy. We queued for around an hour and there were 4 or 5 cast members checking people in. We were given a clipboard with a form to fill out around halfway through the queue and this cut down on the time taken when you get to the front. However, the cast member has to explain about breakfast, getting to the parks, how to get to your room and any extras etc so it took around 10 minutes to get through all that. We were given 2 room keys and a map of the hotel with our room number on it and our building circled. The check in/reception area was lovely. Very large and very well themed. There was a small area for children to play which had lego blocks and a television.
Breakfast
At check-in you are given a choice of time to have breakfast, allocated in half an hour slots from 7am to 10am. We opted for the earliest breakfast and found it wasn't too busy at all, however, on the last morning we were nearer the end of our half hour slot and it was starting to get quite busy, there still wasn't any problems getting seated or food from the buffet though. Breakfast was continental, so consisted of cereal, pastries, fruits, cheeses and cold meats. The food was always fresh and replenished regularly. It was a buffet so you could go back for more as required. There was also tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc or fruit juice and water were the cold drink selections.
Cost
As with all the on-site Disney hotels, The Cheyenne can vary hugely in price depending on when you book, when you go, whether or not there are any offers on, how many people are in the party. We stayed for 5 nights at the beginning of June. We arrived on a Thursday and left on a Tuesday. Our stay included breakfast and 6 days in both parks for two adults and two children. Babies under 3 stay free and get free access into the parks. The cost for this was £532.
You can also receive 6.5% cashback when booking a Disneyland hotel or tickets through Quidco.
There is also an option to go halfboard and save 15% off your evening meal. If you choose this option, you will be given meal voucher for each member of your party for each night of your stay. These can then be used as payment for your evening meal in certain restaurants throughout the park, village and hotels. They can also be used at face value in restaurants which are not included.
Summary
I think this is an excellent budget hotel by Disney. It's by far the best hotel when travelling with children as the theming is just brilliant. It is fantastic value for money and the only things it is lacking is luxurious extras such as a pool, gym etc, which if I'm honest I certainly wouldn't use when visiting Disneyland Paris - I just wouldn't have the time!
We will definitely be staying at the Cheyenne again.
