Advantages: Cheap and cheerful, central location secure car parking Disadvantages: Not far from fire station and police HQ, the sirens!
...Anyone who has stayed in a IBIS will know they use the same format throughout, this IBIS is no exception. The car park is around the back and underground, I have been there many times and never found it to be full.
Outside and to the left is the newly opened electric tram system serving the whole of the city.
The reception are is a bit dated, but arguably so are all hotels in France. The reception staff speak numerous languages and seemed happy to converse in English. Check in was fast and efficent.
The hotel is over about 11 floors and all floors are served by one of three lifts so waiting times are kept to a minimum. Each floor is based around a square doughnut, the quiet rooms with no view are on the inside, the view and the sirens are on the outside. Advantages: It keeps you entertained the whole way through Disadvantages: it is boring
...I would definitely not reccomend going to Bordeuax if you are thinking of going somewhere this year. If you like shopping, lots of people, excitment. Do not come to Bordeaux. However if you like cheesy discos, swimming in yellow lakes, going to toilets that are holes in the floor, very quiet, very desolate, very boring places then you would absolutely love it in Bordeax. There are way too many vinyards there for my liking. There are so many wine shops, well, that's certainly no surprise. If you find a town to go to you will probably find a restaurant, a pharmacie , a disco and a few wine shops! If you go stay in a nice hotel and make sure there are proper toilets there!...

Culture in 1978. This reward, perfectly justified, makes it possible
to guess the extent of the monuments, museums, rooms of art or places
which make the pride of the capital of Aquitaine. During my many
voyages, I was brought to discover in-depth this city, and eager to
share my knowledge with the ciao users, I propose one to you strolls "
virtual " of Bordeaux. In a slapping of finger, I send to you on the
great place of the Quincunxes which dominates the quays of Bordeaux.
Such your guide, I open the gates of Bordeaux to you (I yes hope for
that I did not forget...
