Hotel Club, Bratislava

Advantages: Clean, Location, Price, Staff
Disadvantages: Breakfast not included in price of room

...Good location at the edge of Old Town pedestrian area and infront of the beautiful grounds of Bratislava Castle. The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke good English. Not a luxury hotel by any means, but location, cleanliness, more than make up for this. Rooms basic but more than adequate, nice fresh clean bathrooms with good shower. One tip i would give is to avoid the breakfast at the hotel. Theres nothing wrong with it at all, in fact it was quite good but at 8 Euro is was very pricey in my opinion. There is much better value to be found in the town centre. Overall, a good choice and it does exactly what it needs to do. Good option for a weekend visit to Bratislava.... Read review

Advantages: Central to the town and overlooking the Danube.
Disadvantages: A bit expensive. The sauna and pool are closed until december 2007.

...The Hotel danube in Bratislava , overlooking the beautiful blue river danube ,or donau, as it is known in Germany. It is spacious and scrupulously clean .The staff are friendly and professional with an excellent command of the English language.It has a swimming pool and gym facilities although these are currently closed for renovation until december 2007. There is an excellent restaurant, conference rooms and they have a massive grand piano in the foyer with a resident musician.Luxury soaps, body lotion, shampoos are provided and there is a safe in each room , also, an essential item, a hair dryer. There is covered parking accessed with a card. It is situated right in the heart of the town which is buzzing with vitality and has an air of euphoria after the years of communist oppression. Advantages: Cheap, pleasant city
Disadvantages:

...Bratislava is only about an hour and a half from Vienna, and is well worth a detour to, or a stopover via if you are en route to Budapest. If you are staying for a couple of days or more then I would recommend the Slovak Spectator, a fortnightly publication in English, which has details of events in Bratislava, although the style is dreary. For great views, climb up to the castle and look down over the Danube, or take the lift up the SNP - looks like one of The Tripods... and there are great views other the city. For a weekend trip some hotels offer discoutned rooms and in any case prices are cheap so Bratislava is a budget destination. The hydrofoil from Vienna takes 90 minutes to get to Bratislava and costs about GBP 12, leaving from the Reichsbrücke on the Danube Canal in Vienna, running from mid-April to the end of October.
