Advantages: Clean, reasonably priced Disadvantages: Bus ride to central Florence
...Right off the motorway this hotel is easy to find and convient if you are travelling around. It is not in the centre of Florence but they do provide a free shuttle bus for the journey which takes between 10 and 15 mins depending on trafic.
The hotel is clean and tidy. There is a small gift shop and resturant, where the food was nice but over priced and expensive for Italy.
The rooms were clean and a resonably good size, although they look straight on to the motorway or car park.
Reception staff were polite and helpful.
This hotel seems to cater more towards the business traveller than for tourists. While we were staying there was a large conference going on.
Overall good value for a quick stop off but not ideal for a sightseeing trip to Florence....

Advantages: Beautiful City Disadvantages: Lots of walking
...I have just come back from a weekend away in Florence and wanted to let others know about this lovely hotel. It is very near to Florence Central Station 10Eur taxi and just a short walk to the Duomo, Academia and San Lorenzo. The full address is VIA XXVII APRILE 14, FLORENCE, 50129, Italy.
The hotel costs about £122 per night (one room for two people) There is complimentary tea and cofee in the afternoon, with a comfortable roof garden to sit in. For cheap prices go to the hotels website http://cellai.hotel-firenze.net/
The hotel reception is nice and had art on display in the lounge area. The staff were very nice and continental breakfast which is included in the price was quite good, it consisted of fresh bread rolls, croissants, ham, cheese and fruit.
Mine and my sisters room was quite small but it was nice. Where as my mum...

...Enjoy a fabulous location in Florence AND help to save work of art. The Pitti Palace Hotel is located at the foot of the Ponte Vecchio, a few minutes stroll from many of the top attractions in this most attractive city. Our twin room was not large but was clean, comfortable and had a tiny sundrenched balcony - the view was of streets and rooftops but in Florence even these are interesting. The best feature of this hotel is the roof terrace where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast looking across the city. The Arthotel group sponsors the restoration of works of art and guests can contribute to this too. When you visit the Uffizi Gallery you can bring your admission ticket to the hotel reception. The value of your ticket will be donated by the hotel to the restoration fund. The staff were very helpful, going beyond the call...
