Como Hotel is a completely refurnished hotel right in the city center, 15 minutes walk from tha lake, with centralised air conditioning. Como is a modern hotel with blue and white entrance portico. Regional and international dishes and a selection of wines are served in the relaxed setting of the Pavone Restaurant which has a simple white décor and light wood furnishings. During the summer months, grilled meat and fish dishes are served in the Roof Garden Restaurant. The roof garden also has an open-air swimming pool and poolside bar for aperitifs or snacks. Modern congressual equipment of the hotel makes it favourable to welcome meetings, professional trainings and refresher courses.
Advantages: The Cities of Como and Bellagio around the Lake, close to Switzerland/Milan, Can tour Lake by Boat Disadvantages: You won't be able to stay forever (unless your Rich and George Clooney).
...walked around one corner, my German friend telling us about the hotel we were staying at in Bellagio ( I will be doing a review on Bellagio next=), I saw a large body of water that I had only given a cursery glance as we drove past.
"What is THAT?" I said in an almost whispered questioning voice.
"Oh, dat's Lake Como", German friend said.
"THAT'S Lake Como?", I replied.
"Ja, it's pretty , no?" German friend answered.
" Yes...NO....it's gorgeous", I said back increduously.
" You know da newer Star Vars Movie where Anikan and da Princess get married? Vell, dat's da Lake da movie used vhere dey gots married on". German friend pointed out.
I could see why it was movie worthy. It wans't just the Lake. The lake by itself was beautiful. It was the scenery emcompassing it that pushed it a step above beautiful.

Advantages: close to ski lifts, bars and restaurants Disadvantages: food can be a bit repetitive
...Not a bad little hotel. Quite small, especially the bar but the rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food was fine. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was very close to the ski lifts (1 minutes walk) and was centrally located for most of the shops and bars. The only downside to the Como Pedrosa is that it is at the top of a steep hill and it can be a real hike back up after a night out, though as there are plenty of bars and restaurants close by this is not too much of a problem. It is within easy reach of the capital Andorra La Vella (20 minutes on bus) though the transfers from Toulouse are quite long at approx 4 - 5 hours. Overall I would stay here again, no problem....

...I appreciate others may have had a great time at this hotel but my personal experience was very poor.
We visited the restaurant at the Hotel Metropole and were served a square slab of pizza as if it had come from a budget frozen food store. The pizza was cold with some tinned mushrooms, ham & tomato thrown on top. When we complained about this the staff were unwilling to help. Eventually they reheated the pizza to within an inch of its life. When we refused to pay for this poor quality food, the best they could offer was a threat to call the police and abuse of my wife and I.
My advice - Avoid this hotel at all costs. There are far better places on Lake Como with "Real" Italian food, served by staff who appreciate their customers....
