Back in February I placed a booking with Exodus (an 'adventure travel' company) for a trip to Ladakh in the Indian Himalayas with a stay in Delhi at either end of visit. I'd rejected the flight inclusive option (because it used Gulf Air) and splashed out many years worth of Virgin Flying Club 'miles' on two economy tickets for my husband and myself. Advantages: CLEAN, LOCAL IDEAL TO COMMUTE Disadvantages: CRAMPED SPACE
...When I decided on a short break down to London, I was totally stumped on somewhere to stay that was really close to the main attractions and also steered by the price.
The CorusHotel Hyde Park looked to be in an ideal location just 5 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate Tube station (100 yards)and 15 minutes away from Heathrow Airport where I had flown into perfect I thought.
This hotel overlooks the infamous Hyde Park, hence the name and was only 3 stops from shoppers paradise.
As you approach the hotel you firstly spot the restaurant which is located at the front, you need to walk past this and turn right at the corner of the building to enter the reception, here you are greeted by two members of staff on the reception and there is also a concierge on hand to assist you with your bags.

Advantages: Handy for the metro Disadvantages: Lousy location, unbelievably noisy

The Corus hotel is based at Lancaster Gate, London. Rather nicely it sits opposite Hyde Park which gives you an opportunity to spend some relaxing time of a morning or evening.
