Hotel Cosmopolita, Platja d'Aro

Advantages: Large and clean
Disadvantages: For the older generation

...This was a lovely large and very clean hotel. The room I stayed in had 2 single beds, there was ample room to move around and also space for our golf clubs and baggage. The furnishings were minimul in the room with a dressing table,bedside tables,a chair and a mini bar.There were large built in cupboards for all our clothes.The bathroom was very clean, with a bath and a shower inside the bath.,there was a full length mirror and a hair dryer on the wall.The balcony of the room had a table and 2 chairs and looked out onto the swimming pool area .The breakfast was a buffet style and was quite varied between fry ups, cold meat, fruit,cereal,rolls,toast,fruit juice etc. The staff didn't have a good grasp of English.The entertainment at night was an organist with people up slow dancing.It definately wasn't an hotel for people looking... Advantages: Beautiful Villa, Scenic Location

...extent) does prove to be the best option. Happily, the villa lends itself to this very nicely. The cooking facilities, both in the indoor and outdoor kitchen areas, are excellent. There is a large supply of good quality crockery and glassware, a broad selection of pots, pans, dishes and implements, as well as a comprehensive set of barbequing tools. The outdoor seating area under the pergola is idyllic on warm evenings, with the indoor dining area proving useful for breakfasts, or for a leisurely lunch away from the midday sun. During our stay, we tended to eat breakfast at the villa, have lunch out, and then cook a BBQ poolside in the evenings. Of course, given that we were travelling with a baby, this would have proved an ideal arrangement anyway. Advantages: Beautiful, quiet and laid back
Disadvantages: Can't think of any!

...the botanical gardens at Cap Riog. From our apartment it was a 2.5 mile uphill struggle, but it was worth it to see the view from cap Riog and the gardens. I particularly liked the cactus garden, and my parents tell me it's much more impressive than it was a few years back. It's a nice day out, but probably not the best for people with young children. On the matter of children, Platja D'Aro is not far away, and with Platja D'Aro comes Aquadiver! Aquadiver is a small waterpark, but none the less, it's great fun. I've been there many times, and taking my brothers on the newest ride "waterfall" was the only time I have ever heard them scream. For the adventurous, or just those who want to look in rock pools, there is a cliff walk around the headland between Calella and Llafranch, and this allows access to the rocks below.
