Advantages: Independent hotel character meets reliable value
Disadvantages: Few big city or very posh hotels - if that is a disadvantage

for the predictable mediocrity of the chains. The only two problems are: how to locate such hotels in advance when planning your itinerary, and how to know what standards at what prices to expect on arrival. You can ? and I often have ? travelled in France without elaborate pre-planning, only seeking somewhere to stay when night falls, but it is easier if you have a reliable guidebook to hand. There are many guidebooks to French hotels available, and the local Tourist Office or Syndicat d?Initiative will usually provide free lists of those in their area. Increasingly though, I find myself turning to the most reliable, best-organised and most information-packed guidebook I know, the list of members of the Logis de France. Review of Logis de France

"Lille De France" - Geddit?

Advantages: Near London by train, cosmopolitan feel, excellent transport connections, eating out, plenty to see
Disadvantages: Dog poo

arrived. Despite what the guidebook said about Sunday opening, it was closed for lunch! Distance-wise for me, it?s not much further than Birmingham, and time-wise, it?s even nearer. I know where I?d rather spend a weekend. Incidentally, the return journey, door to door, was just 3 hours, including two tube trains from Waterloo to Hounslow Central, and a 1 mile walk rather than wait 30 mins for the next availible mini-cab - not bad eh? Useful reading at a price to suit weekenders. AA Essential Lille - ISBN 0-7495-2423-5 @ £ 3.99. The hotel's free map wasn't bad either! At least now I know what I've missed, including the Bois De Boulogne (yes, Lille's got one too) a remarkable polygonal citadel dating back over 300 years, The Museum of Modern Art and The Fine Arts Museum. Oh well, it's not far, let's go again when the weather ...

I see the writting with my cristal ball

Advantages: writes well enough
Disadvantages: none

with smudging or ink blobs with these. These pens are ideal for school, home or office use. They are available in many stationers on or off line at http://www.caboodle.co.uk/ you can buy a box of 50 for £8.41 (sale price) £19.50 previous price. At http://www.ryman.co.uk a single pen is 35p. So as you can see they are not an expensive item. A short history lesson. ~~~~~~~~~ The first ball point pen was a ball point marker, a leaky pen invented by John Loud in 1888. Biro invented a ball pen it was patented in 1938 . A man called Micheal Bich had a buisiness making partys for fountain pens ,in 1950 he created his own ball point pen. He shortened the name to Bic and the Bic cristal ball point pen is now a popular pen which lasts for ages. Would I recomend ? Yes well I am not sure which brand of ball point pen is the best but ...
