Hotel D'Albe St Michel, Paris

...As the weekend just gone is my only full weekend of this month we decided to make the most of it. After our booze cruise to France last Sunday I though that I’d love to see a bit more of France, we drove over and hopped on a ferry, the cost of this was £102 for the weekend, we then drove down to Paris, looked at the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. These were lovely to see but not as spectacular as Mont St. Michel. On our second day in France we decided to get out of Paris - after a rather nerve wracking drive through the Arc de Triomphe! This was a bit like the wacky races and something I wouldn’t recommend! Mont St Michel is located on the north west coast of France, about 3 hours drive from Paris in the gulf of St. Malo. Advantages: Charming Hotel in an Unsurpassable Location
Disadvantages: Small Bathrooms...Otherwise Few & Far Between.

...Hotel de Notre Dame, Paris The four-star Hotel de Notre Dame is a small & picturesque 'boutique' hotel located in the very heart of Paris. Its location is quite simply superb. Although set in a quiet and attractive side-street, it is little more than a stone's throw from the Seine, and is situated right on the fringe of the vibrant Latin quarter. Some rooms have views above the rooftops to the Notre Dame, and the bells of the cathedral can be heard tolling across the river. I've stayed at this delightful little hotel three times now, and unless that proverbial ship comes in, enabling me to stay at the George V, I doubt I'd ever consider staying anywhere else in Paris ever again. The entrance to the hotel is burgundy in colour and somewhat unprepossessing in appearance; in fact, it rather resembles an old, converted shop... Read review

Advantages: So Central! Cheap, clean
Disadvantages: In a hospital, so you can see some interesting sights!!

...I came across this hotel while searching for somewhere to stay for my trip to Paris in November. As it was mainly a sightseeing/shopping trip, I wanted somewhere central, cheap and clean. As most of the cheaper end hotels in Paris are stuck on top of the Montmatre hill, this central hotel appeared to be quite a find! I made enquiries through their website (http://www.hotel-hospitel.com/ang/accueil.htm) and got a helpful reply stating that they had a room for 110 Euros per night, and all I had to was give my credit card details to secure the room. On arrival at Charles De Gaulle we headed for the RER line B and caught the train to St Michel Notre Dame (cost around 7-8 euros). We arrived and to our surprise the hospital which contains the hotel was literally yards from Notre Dame. We knew it would be close, but not that close... Read review
