A few years ago we went to Rome in the summer and we stayed at the Hotel Daniela. A hotel close to the Coliseum and the Termini station, according to their website.
The reception looked fine. It was tastefully decorated, with a few couches and it had a really welcoming feeling. There were flyers available with information about the things to do in Rome. Also you could get a free map of Rome. At the reception you could possibly rent a safe. If you left the hotel you had to leave your key behind but since there’s 24 hour reception that wasn’t any problem.
Daniela hotel has a rooftop terrace. I already seen on the site of the hotel and it sounded very promising. It was however disappointing. There was indeed a terrace but it was not even lit. However, there were few seats and you had a nice view. I expected a little bit more and that you could have a drink and just meet some people but since it was not even lit, there was no point of being there.
The staff at Hotel Daniela was very friendly. Because the reception was open 24 hours a day, there were always several people during the day. They were all very nice and friendly. They were patient when you asked them questions and their English was just fine. Also the staff at the breakfast room was really polite and fast with cleaning the table and with the coffee. I always find it so important that the staff is friendly but if not it can really ruin the holiday feeling.
I really enjoyed my stay in Rome thanks to this hotel. The hotel is perfect for people who want to get a good night sleep since you have no busy street but also the room and bed are very comfortable. It certainly helped that the staff was also very friendly and helpful with questions about directions and if they knew any good places to eat. I was a bit disappointed with the whole roof terrace and beforehand it could picture myself sitting there with a nice drink after a busy day of walking. I think they can do so much more with it and at least lit it up. Nobody likes to sit in the dark at night! Also you didn’t really have any nice bars around the hotel so if you wanted to have a drink you needed to walk for like 15 minutes. Another slightly disappointment was the selection at the breakfast since I always find the breakfast very important. I love a big breakfast and while the quality was really good I just expected abit more.
