Advantages: The view! Worth a million pounds, but you get it at a reasonable price Disadvantages: Some find rather old fashioned, but it has a certain charm
..., but venturing out to Amalfi to get a meal. Though the hotel food is very nice, I much preferred going out and exploring what the locals had to offer. I also found by doing this you seemed to get a little more for your money.

Advantages: Piazza dei Miracoli and Piazza dei Cavalieri are wonderful Disadvantages:
...Pisa is the hometown of Galileo Galilei, the famous physician, who carried out his first experiments on the gravity of the Leaning Tower in Piazza dei Miracoli.
In the square, world famous for its bell-tower, one can admire the Baptistery, the Cathedral and the Cemetery, monuments, which are a testimony to the different development phases from the Romanic Style of Pisa to the Gothic. Its internationally known University has its prestigious seat in the 'Scuola Normale di Pisa' located in the historical Cavalieri (Knights) Square.
Every year, on 16th June, the Luminara takes place. The Luminara is a festivity during which all the buildings as well as the palaces and the Tower are lit by candlelight as a tribute to St. Ranieri, the city patron.
Not far from Pisa, one can admire St. Pietro a Grado Church, a fine example of Roman...

Advantages: Beautiful, Italian, romantic Disadvantages: Very narrow roads and very hilly
...The Amalfi coast is possibly one of the most beautiful and romantic places in the world. We got engaged there, in Ravello, so it obviously holds a very special place in my heart. There are several towns which are beautiful to stay in. We were based in Positano which is split into 2 areas by a deep ravine. All hotels are ont eh cliff face with fantastic views out to sea. Positano can get a bit touristy in high season so I would recomend going in Spring time - late April through to early June. There are also many good places to eat to suit most budgets and a couple of very special hotels if your budget allows. Otherwise there are plenty of excellent guest houses which are clean and comfortable.
Amalfi itself is an historically interesting town and well worth a visit. As is Ravello on the top of the hills, famous for Wagner stories...
