Hotel Dionysos, Paphos, Cyprus

The hotel itself is a nice size; the decor is traditional and comfortable. We were greeted by a large foyer with many plush sofas where guests were relaxing.
Approaching the reception desk, we were greeted by one of the many friendly members of staff whose English was of high quality. We informed them we were here for a wedding and another 2 members of the party would be arriving in a few days time (grandma and grandad ...
...also very impressed with the hotel and it's staff, who even remembered the date of the wedding and wished us a 'good day' when we left in our wedding attire!
Overall, the hotel was a good size, not too large and had a very friendly feel to it. The rooms were lovely and the service we received was of the highest quality I have ever experienced. I would fully recommend this hotel, it was not the cheapest option, but it was well worth the money ... more

Last year we stayed here for accommodation when we attended a wedding in Paphos. Upon arrival, we did have trouble finding the main entrance, it was a case of being able to see the building but not being able to get there. I suppose if you book through an agent and travel by transfers this problem would not be a worry.

Approaching the reception desk, we were greeted by one of the many friendly members of staff whose English was of high quality. We informed them we were here for a wedding and another 2 members of the party would be arriving in a few days time (grandma and grandad were also staying there). The foyer was air conditioned which proved very useful in the powerful heat of Paphos.
Our bedroom boasted digital temperature control, a very large double bed, balcony, en suite bathroom, built in wardrobes and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities that were refilled daily. We opted to pay a little extra for the use of a safe and a mini fridge. We even received slippers and a fruit basket.
Staying bed and breakfast, we found that there was more than enough choice when we went down to eat. We had the choice of sitting inside or on the shaded terrace where there were ample tables. The food was brilliant, choice of continental or cooked breakfast including pancakes and maple syrup (my personal favourite!)
The pool area is a good size, although the pool was slightly small when children are playing on inflatables but there were no rules against this. The terrace for sunbathing was nicely sized with plenty of sunbeds and parasols. The only problem was the busy main road in Paphos right below, which does make sunbathing a little less of a relaxing experience.
The poolside bar was reasonably priced and served quality food throughout the day.
Being right in the heart of Paphos, I was expecting a little noise pollution from the bars nearby, but I was pleasantly surprised to find I was wrong. The bars are in easy walking distance and there are many restaurants nearby.
We have stayed in hotels before and have been made to feel a little uncomfortable but there was a friendly atmosphere throughout the hotel. A mixture of nationalities made it inviting as people exchanged smiles and the staff were all lovely.
When my grandparents arrived, they were also very impressed with the hotel and it's staff, who even remembered the date of the wedding and wished us a 'good day' when we left in our wedding attire!
