Hotel Du Golf D'Arras, Anzin-Saint-Aubin

Advantages: Friendly staff, quick email replies, website in English, 24 hours access, located at the seafront
Disadvantages: kettle would have been nice especially for people who decide to stay for longer periods.

...I have stayed in the Hotel du Golf for one night only when travelling to Europe. I would not say Calais is a great holiday destination as we all know it is not, but if you are looking for a place to stay overnight and then get ahead with your journey, I don't think there is a better place than Hotel du Golf in this price range. Rooms are spacious and feel fresh, with TV, fridge, stove and a microwave. WiFi internet connection throughout the building. Staff is nice and helpfull. Hotel itself is located right at the seafront, so as you may expect there are restaurants around. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the town centre, meaning no need to drive which is good especially if you want to enjoy local nightlife. Advantages: Fantastic bed, monsoon shower, great food, beautiful linen, central location, classy
Disadvantages: not cheap!

...This is centrally located (5 minutes from the Hippodrome) in bristol in a beautiful old warehouse that has been converted. Brilliant conversion keeping old exposed brickwork but marrying it up with loads of glass etc - really nicely done. The rooms are great - VERY comfortable beds, a great great shower and everything spotlessly clean. think crisp white linen and beautiful wooden bed frame. The food is fantastic. Breakfast outstanding - dinner menu brilliant - none of this is cheap but it is luxurious. Great bar area with huge leather sofas and a cocktail menu to die for - they also have a small courtyard area outside, lovely library for functions for an after dinner relaxing drink. ...My partner and I went to Houda Golf Aug 08. Must admit was pleasantly surprised! The hotel is surprising clean and there is staff cleaning all day and all night. Rooms simple and clean. Cleaned daily and clean towels daily if needed. All the staff were so friendly and nice despite the language barrier. They work so hard, the guys and girls you see first thing in the morning are the same guys and girls that you see last thing at night! They work such long hours but always have a smile for you....! The food was average, but the fact that you could eat from 6am - 1am was a bonus. There was always something to eat that suited you. The snack bar was fantastic and convenient.
