Advantages: Powerful horror, genuinely scary Disadvantages: Sickening to watch
It took me at least a week to come to a semi conclusion of how I felt about Eden Lake; it took me a few days at least to get over the initial shock and emotion felt by watching it. And I have to say that the film I am about to review is like nothing I have seen before.
Eden Lake, is an English film directed by a man called James Watkins, I had never heard of the film nor the director and I was not that enthusiastic about watching it, but after a day moping about alone I wanted something scary to watch and it was in the horror section of my local movie shop at a price of £4 so I thought I would give it a watch. Sometimes I just crave something to give me a bit of a scare.
Horror films which are genuinely scary are few and far between and it is almost unheard of to find one which gives you more than a few jumps and actually offers ...

Advantages: cheap, good location Disadvantages: don't ask for an upgrade
The Best Western EdenHotel is, unusually for Amsterdam, situated in an idyllic location next to one of the canals that decimate the city. It is within walking distance of many of the squares, flower markets and a short tram ride away from the city centre. To save time, my opinion of this place is mixed and juggles a balance of cheap and weird.
The Outside
**********
As mentioned, the hotel sits on a canal - quite a wide bit of canal where a couple of smaller ones join. There is quite an expanse of water in front of it, vaguely industrial in a quaint sort of way. The outside of the hotel looks pretty regal ...
Advantages: Clean and well equipped. Disadvantages: Not the cheapest.
After having just spent a two week honeymoon at this four star hotel I have plenty to say about it.
The hotel is situated on the edge of the up and coming resort of Ayia (Agia) Napa on the south east coast of Cyprus. It is about two miles from the centre, making it quiet if you want quiet, but with the hustle and bustle of "the Square" about half an hours walk away. It is very hot in Cyprus so walking may not be the best option, the taxi fare of only around C£4 is well worth it. There are also buses which run every 30 minutes or so for 50 cents.
The first thing which stood out about this hotel is the friendly staff. After checking in very efficiently, which took less than 10 minutes we were congratulated on our marriage and we discovered a bottle of Champagne in our room, very nice! We also found we had been upgraded to ...
