Advantages: GREAT LOCATION NEAR THE BEACH Disadvantages: RIMINI
...Rimini is not my idea of a perfect destination in Italy, but it's close to San Marino, which isn't a perfect destination in Italy either when you come to think of it. Anyway, Rimini worked out fine for us last year as we wanted to visit San Marino and the choice of hotels was so much better.
That's why we went there - now for where we went there.
We opted for the Ramada Villa Rosa, mainly for the location it has to be said, but also because it looked a half decent hotel at a half decent price (80 euros).
The location couldn't be any better. It's 5 minutes from the historic town centre, sits right on the main drag just across the road from the beach and surrounded by bars and restaurants. We weren't really there for the beach, the historic town centre wasn't up to much but the bars and restaurants held a little more appeal...

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal.
PRICE:
Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

...I recently stayed overnight at the chine hotel in Bournemouth whilst in the area for a friends wedding. It is currently rated as a three star hotel, but I cannot for the life of me see why as I found it to be of at least four star standard. There are 86 rooms, all of which incorporate an en suite bathroom and are decorated to a decent standard. All rooms include a hair dryer, trouser press, direct dial telephone, satellite television (selected channels only) and the complementary tray of tea, coffee and biscuits.
There are four types of rooms available in relation to the view they offer the guests. The basic room is an inland room, then there is a garden facing room and finally the sea views and sea views with balcony (the prices are slightly higher for these).
The hotel has a fantastic restaurant which serves breakfast...

We stayed at this hotel after booking a cheap 'new route' flight via Easyjet. The hotel has a feeling of being in an Agatha Christie novel with a certain shabby chic and some interesting people-watching moments - wealthy Europeans and Americans. Service... more
