Thought i'd review this Hotel again, as there have been a few changes since last summer,
We recently returned to the Hotel Esplia, as we have been there a few times before and really enjoyed it
Allthough the Hotel has 198 rooms it still feels family freindly as would say a smaller hotel. The rooms are quite spacious sleeping mainly up to 3 people comfortably. Each room comes with: bath/shower, wc,beeday,hair dryer and shaving point. Large Built in wardrobes and bedside cabinets. Colour remote control tv-n.b remote available from reception for $10.00 Euro refundable deposit. Air conditioning and safe-nb small charge for safe. All rooms
have a small balcony with patio table and chairs. The Hotel has six floor levels for guests all acsessable via there 2 lifts or stairs, each corridor also has cctv for your added security, and excellant emergency excape routes.
Smoking by Spanish law is not permitted in the Hotel or its rooms, please note all rooms are now fitted with very sensitive smoke detectors, and they are very strict about adherring to this new law so be warned.you can however smoke on your balcony, but no where else inside the hotel.
Smoking is however permitted in any outside area, etc outside bar,and at the poolside tables.
We as always found the staff extremley friendly and helpfull. Meals are available from the main restaurant, which serve Buffet style:Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner, packed lunches are available on request but ask the day before. They serve a wide variety of cuisine, caterring for the British very well.the food is presented very well and in a modern clean enviroment, if you have any complaints what so ever, see a member of staff and they will rectify the problem immediatley without any fuss. Drinks are available from the rstaurant bar and tea,coffee and fresh orange juice etc is readily available to serve yourself at breakfast. Meal deals range from B&B to all Inclusive. Also at the poolside bar, therey serve snacks of toasted sandwiches,chips,burgers and hotdogs for the times when the kids just wont leave the pool.
In the main entance area, there is a large bar, satellite tv,2 pool tables and a few games. There is a resident entertainments team, who spend most of there time entertaining the kids, organising, pool competitions and games,also every night for an hour there is a childrens disco. For adults prize bingo, weekly adult disco,pool competitions and quizzes. leading of the main bar there is a large balcony with seating area's overlooking the pool. Through the main doors and down a few steps leads you to the Hotel's swimming pools, one large one, with shallow and deep end approx 6ft deep and a small shallow pool for the tots, there is two outside jacuzzi's and toilets with shower facility's. There is a poolside Bar, tv area and pooltable, and a large patio area with ample seating, and poolside sunbeds, all included in the hotel price. This area is cleaned daily and is spotless. Directly opposite the hotel there is a restaurant run by an elderly Spanish Gent and his two daughters.They serve excellant top quality food, at a very reasonable price eg: large English Breakfast with English bacon,sausage,beans,eggs and toast aprrox $5.00 Euro or £2.50 this includes tea/coffee etc. Superb Roast Chicken dinners as well as massive steaks.
this establishment also has an internet cafe,games rooms with pooltables,airhockey,basketball kiddies rides and an array of amusments.to the left is a foodstore supplied with everything you need if you opt for the selfcattering option.
Turning to your right leads you along the road to several other bars, cafe and shops, most notabley Pappa's Bar, a very friendly bar which is a good allround family entertaining pub etc,prize bingo,quizzes, fun games a good time to be had by all.

The Esplai Hotel Calella is situated 350 metres away from the beach and the centre of the city.
Please note: there is also secure parking facilties readily available at the hotel grounds on request.charges apply.
