Hotel Euro House Residence, Rome

Advantages: Posh hotel, it looks nice, but...
Disadvantages: The staff

...I went to stay here in 2006, I think. For my sisters wedding. It was a nice hotel, the architecture inside I knew wasn't real, but it was meant to look posh. Which it did, but only in one room... the reception. So, I stayed here for two days and one night. I didn't sleep on a proper bed, because the room was full in which I was sleeping in (Since its a wedding and all). So in the corner of the room, I had to sleep on a horrible, tiny, lumpy bed. Which can be folded again into a bag. Of course, I can't blame the hotel for the poor bed, because this was my own fault. I'm sure that if there weren't so many people I could of slept on the double bed, which is better. So, in the early days, considering to be the 1800's - Alton House Hotel used to be a house. ...I recently went on a trip to Rome, my first trip in fact to Italy, I love culture and history so this city was a must on my list. Oh and it's the year of the 'I' - the year in which I visit countries beginning with I, so far I've been, Ireland, Iceland and now Italy. Location ********* The Clarin Hotel is a 2 star hotel situated in Via Palermo, a street central to the city centre although on the Eastern side, and approximately a 5 minute walk from Termini Station and a 10-12 minute walk to the Coliseum and many other attractions. I would recommend getting the train from the airport (either of them) to Termini Station as the hotel is 2 roads away from the station, and as long as your case has wheels or bag isn't heavy you'll be fine walking it. ...it would have been lovely to sit in in the summer time. ~~~~~~~ Location ~~~~~~~ Hotel Villa Patrizi is located by Porta Pia in the immediate vicinities of the English Embassy. It is just out of the main hussle and bussle of the city of Rome, which was nice. It is 5 minutes walk from the nearest tube station Policlinico. To go to many sites you need to change at Termani (the main tube station) but this is easy and simple to do. The tubes are quick and reliable. It takes between 10-20 minutes to get to most sites. Although we didn't use them there are also tube and bus links to the city. The hotel is 35km in distance and takes approx. 40 minutes in a taxi to Fiumicino (Leonardo Da Vinci) Airport and this costs about 50 euros. It is also about 23km in distance from Ciampino Airport.
