The finest hotel I've ever stayed in
Review of Hilton, Rome by MikeWoods

Advantages: Beautiful surroundings, outstanding food
Disadvantages: Key system needs a bit of work

...When I went to Rome in July 2000 I spent 3 nights in the Rome Hilton. What can I say, I don't think the hotel could have been any nicer. Situated about 1 15 minute taxi ride from the main part of Rome, the hotel has beatiful grounds surrounding it, a fantastic outdoor swimming pool, a beautiful indoor heated pool, numerous gyms and plenty of places to grab a snack or a full 7 course meal. The food was the best I've ever tasted, although pricey, it was outstanding. Everything from a small roast beef sandwich in the lobby bar to scorpion fish spaghetti on the roof top restaurant over looking the Vatican. The only down side I would say to the hotel is the lift system, If you are staying on one of the higher floors, you need a key to be able to get up that high on the lift. If you have left the key with someone in the room then you... Read review

Traffic of Rome
Review of Rome (Italy) by Naryn

Advantages: see the Roman power
Disadvantages: Bad traffic system

...I went to Rome on october 2000, in the sense of Roman city is very good to visit and find out how great the roman power was....I went there by myself and friends. The traffic of the city is very bad in my opinion, they drive very fast and without rules....they usually drive over the light...please don't expect that much to walk immediately when the green light to allow crossing the road.... I had prefered to explore the Rome city by walk because I couldn't stand its transportation system...bus system is very difficult to understand.....taking the underground only when I wanted to go back to the hotel. In the train, please be careful your bag and stuffs especially during the rush hours, the pickpockets work in this time....... Read review

Best Western Hotel Piccadilly Rome
Review of Hotel Piccadilly, Rome by kateschweizer

Advantages: Clean, friendly, good location, good value
Disadvantages: None - perhaps not luxurious enough for some

...suitcase back together :( they have plenty of good recommendations for restaurants etc. and provided us with a map and lots of info regarding travel etc. when we arrived, which was most helpful! The location is great especially considering the price - we actually booked using airmiles, which you can do on the airmiles website - it is only a few hundred metres from a metro stop that goes across the city, and directly outside the door is one of the main bus routes that goes through some of the popular parts of the city (bus 87). We found it very easy to get to any part of the city quickly from there. Another point to add is that it is very easy to get to from Rome Campiano airport which most of the lowcost airlines use. Whilst being 15km away, you take the COTRAL bus for 1 Euro to Metro station Anagnina, and then the metro for 1Euro to San... Read review
