Advantages: Location - proximity to railway station Disadvantages: No Internet access in rooms, not wheelchair-friendly
...I stayed at the HotelExcelsior in Munich on a brief overnight stay following a business trip to Munich. The hotel had been recommended by the BayernLB, who I was visiting as part of the trip, and they'd been able to get me a very favourable rate - of EUR 118 for a night including breakfast which was a considerable saving over the rack rate for the hotel. It was particularly practical as the hotel was only a couple of hundred metres from the main railway station (Munich Hbf) which made it a good choice as I could drop my bags off on my way past on the way to the bank. I cose to check in at the same time - and despite the fact that my room was not ready, they were fine about this and had my luggage taken to my room as soon as it did become ready.

...Asuncion, Paraguay isn't on most travellers list of top ten destinations, but I can give you a few good reasons why it is on mine!
I spent 6 months in Paraguay a few years ago working as a volunteer in Asuncion. My work was with the local people and gave me a fascinating insight into the local people.
For a start Asuncion is usually hot, humid and slow moving in every aspect!
I found that the people were on-the-whole very friendly and generally interested in people from the West. The public transport in Asuncion was pretty good. We tended to rely on the buses and they did come regularly if a little overcrowded...

Advantages: Good central location Disadvantages: None
...We have stayed here a couple of times on airline stopovers, as part of the all-in deal.
The hotel's name is due to that fact that it was originally two hotels which they knocked into one, and kept both names. For this reason it is housed in two tall twin towers.
It's a big hotel with 580 rooms, and is busy all the time. Everything ran smoothly with our stay, and there was no problem with the room, which was completely normal, comfortable, and unremarkable for a hotel of that type - a medium priced range big city Singapore hotel. En suite - tea and coffee making - TV, aircon, etc....
The hotel has a wide range of facilities as you'd expect, including laundry service, moneychanger, etc. One interesting aspect of the hotel is the swimming pool. It is off the foyer, and is glass sided so you can see the people swimming as you sit...
