...Accommodation in Hausgesund can be very difficult to come by. It is an industrial area with a large port and gas processing facilities that supply gas to northern europe and the UK. Hence at busy industrial times accomodation in town is sparse. Because of a ship being refitted in town we were forced to take accomodation in Ditt Tysaer Kro And Motel. Haugesund is a small town (circ 20000) on the west coast of Norway. It is now served by Ryanair on a daily basis from Stansted. It is simple to find and a fairly cheap (around £70/night when we were there for a double room). The rooms are fairly basic but contain anything you are likely to need for your stay. Advantages: Good location for trains, good offers at Easter, nice breakfast
Disadvantages: In a rough area of Oslo

Trailing the internet began to get boring as we fell across many executive hotels that we knew would be unsuitable for us and the unsociable hours we would be arriving and leaving at. Then we found that The Comfort Hotel in Boersparken, Oslo, was offering half price rooms. Rather than 1400KRO (just over £130), we would be able to pay just over £60 each per night for five nights. This might not sound like a cheap option but in Oslo and during April, we found this to be the most reasonable price. Everything checked out fine and we booked our room, specifying a non-smoking double bedroom. I feel it is important to mention at this point that we had to use a family members credit card to pay for the room (with their permission of course!) as at the time neither of us had our own. Location - Location - Location  The Imperial is located on Janpath - historically known as Queensway - just one block out from Connaught Place which is the hub of New Delhi for shopping, eating and getting around.  It's just across the road from the giant government crafts store - The Central Cottage Industries Emporium where anyone who wants an easy stress free shopping experience can load up on all their presents and goodies  Between the hotel and Connaught Place you pass a host of smaller craft shops that are well worth a look.  Everybody knows exactly where it is - no taxi driver will ever get lost looking for The Imperial 2.
