I recently spent three nights in Paris and booked the hotel through the Euro star website along with my train ticket. In total the hotel cost me around £150 for the three nights for a double room. When I got there I asked if we could change to a twin room and we paid 45 Euros more to do this for the three nights, so the total I paid was around £195. I think this is a very reasonable price for a hotel in Paris, especially because this one was lovely.

Firstly, it is located within the Marais area of Paris, which is very nearby the Picasso museum. It is a walk able distance down to the river and to the Louvre etc, however there is a metro station minutes away; Republic. From Republic you can catch the majority of the different metro lines, or you can catch it to a station which will allow you to connect to the line you need.

The hotel calls itself an organic hotel; therefore the only food served is organic. Although the restaurant isn’t huge, it is well laid out and very clean. Tables and chairs are white and this is in line with the clean cut look of the hotels interior. Prices however are high; 17 Euros for breakfast. I therefore avoided the restaurant and headed elsewhere.

The reception is manned 24 hours a day by staff who speak both French and English. They are all very pleasant and incredibly helpful, recommending places to visit etc. The hotel even has a pre mapped jogging route for you in case you wish to go for a run. Wi-Fi passes can also be obtained from reception, these are free and last for 24 hours, and then you then need to get a new one. Reception staff are also contactable from the phones in the hotel rooms.

In regards to the rooms themselves, they were again very neutral white décor which gave a very modern appearance. The rooms didn’t have a mass of floor space, but they had lots of storage and really made the most of the space available. There were white bedside units, a wardrobe and a large unit which housed two storage parts behind doors, one contained the fridge, the other folded down and became a small vanity table with mirror. The television with what I imagine is French freeview, was above and housed behind a two way mirror. The room was equipped also with a mood light machine, which was supposed to aid restful sleep, as well as a stereo with iPod docking station. If you don’t have an iPod don’t worry, for a small deposit you can borrow one from reception which has a musical selection input into it by the hotel. The room had wooden flooring and two large windows. The room was also equipped with air conditioning which can be easily maintained from a panel on the wall. Each bed had a small night light for reading etc. The beds themselves were extremely comfortable. One gripe however was that the two pillows provided were both different shapes. One was square the other rectangular which was strange at first, although I did get used to it. Both the beds in the twin were single.

Each room had ensuite bathrooms which were divine. The bath in ours stood away from the wall and had a shower head which sat next to the tap, or alternatively it had a large flat shower head in the ceiling which could be used. The tap and two shower heads could be chosen for use by turning a small dial. The water was incredibly smooth and light, it made me wonder if they filter it. The bathroom sink was large and had a mirror above it with spotlights around it. There were a few shelves for toiletries; the ones provided by the hotel were from the company Korres which is an expensive brand in my opinion. The floors in the bathroom are also wooden. As usual both the rooms and bathrooms are maintained by maids daily.

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel, it is 4 stars and I think that it is in a beautiful part of Paris. I think prices are reasonable and the little extras such as the iPod docking station really appealed to me. The staff are incredibly helpful and I would book there again myself. I give it 4/5 purely because I think the food the hotel served was quite expensive.
