Advantages: An exciting city Disadvantages: can get hot in the summer
...Madrid is a great place for couples or friends on a short city break.
If you are looking at staying in Madrid you could do a lot worse than take a look at the Hotel Regina. The hotel is a 3 star establishment on Calle Alcala, which runs directly into the centre of the city at Puerto del Sol. In fact this hotel is little more than 300 yards from the centre of Madrid.
I stayed in a single room (though it had two single beds!) for around £40 per night in March 2001. For that I got the room, ensuite bath with over the bath shower, toilet and sink, cable tv including pay per view movies, cnn, eurosport and sky news, a radio, and an alarm clock.
A buffet breakfast was also included. I was able to choose from cereals, coffee and tea, orange juice, doughnuts, croissants, rolls with jams and butter, and a selection of meats.

Madrid ranges from Modern to Medieval buildings and very expensive hotels.
Bullfighting is also amongst one of Spains and Madrids traditions, especially going to the arena and watching a live match... and lets not forget the beautiful TERMINAL 4 barajas... the architecture is simply amazing......

Advantages: size of rooms, excellent facilities, Disadvantages: prize when not on offer
...We stayed at Abba MadridHotel in December 2007. The staff was very friendly and spoke english. Our room was in the 12th floor and the view from it was fantastic. The size of the room was fenomenal; a king size bed, minibar, desk and a nice round table. The bathroom was very clean and again a great size. The hotel is easy to reach as it is very near to a metro station. It is not close to the city centre, but this can be reached by using the metro system, which takes around 20 minutes to get to Sol square. There are plenty of restaurants and litle shops close to the hotel, plus a 24-hour shop which can be handy when returning to the hotel early hours in the morning.
We paid 75 euros a night through an offer on the hotel's website. We recommend it specially if you get it for that prize!...
