Advantages: It's in Italy Disadvantages: Everything else
Villa Fiorita is advertised as a three star hotel in Sorrento on the Amalfi coast, justly famed for its natural beauty.
First word of warning. Whilst the hotel is advertised as being in Sorrento, it is actually six kilometres from Sorrento. Whilst this might seem a short distance?be warned!!! Traffic on the Amalfi coast, apart from featuring some of the craziest, dangerous driving I?ve seen anywhere in the world ? bar none ? is sloooowwwwwwwww. There is just the one main road, it is two-lanes although drivers often invent a third non-existent one, and often you may well be sitting in a tailback for over an hour. Further, if you do not have your own transport the bus would often be full and just whiz past the hotel entrance leaving anyone waiting there stranded for at least another half-hour. Taxis are available but will set you back ...
I stayed at the Parco dei Princip for the second time in July of this year - I had already been there for two nights in 2004 but was desperate to go back and stay again!
I sayed ina superior sea view room on the fourth floor, accessed by a decent elevator. I also requested an airport transfer. and even though my flight was delayed, the driver was still waiting at the airport for ,e. He drove the hour or so that it takes to get to Sorrento, pointing out Vesuvius and other attractions on the way.
On arrival the reception staff ere very professional - I checked in withou any problem as was taken to my room by both the bellbiy and the receptionist who was very happy to open the blinds to show me my personal balcony with an incredible view over the Bay of Naples.
I hada wonderfull time at Parco dei Principi. The food in the restaurant ...
Advantages: The decor, the breakfast, the friendly staff, Disadvantages: Some rooms are a little on the small side, but this was no big inconvenience
I booked a standard double room in the Ca' Dei Conti hotel (on expedia) for 3 nights in early January 2008, as a romantic break for my boyfriend and I. We fell in love with the place!.
The hotel is incredibly easy to find by public water bus, you just get off at the San Zaccaria stop and follow the directions given on the hotel website. It's situated only a few minutes walk from St. Marks Square, but is incredibly quiet and secluded, so there is no noise or disturbances.
The hotel itself is incredibly beautiful, as you walk over the little private bridge and enter into the hotel lobby, you're struck by just how beautiful this little hotel is. Checking in is very easy and the staff are friendly and speak fluent English. You are also given a map of Venice on arrival and the receptionist will circle all the main points of interest ...
