Hotel Golkonda, Hyderabad

Advantages: exudes a rich heritage culture, yet is modern! (aka Hi-tech city -due to software programmers) best IT recruitment, food, pleasant evenings outdoors, shopping, people!
Disadvantages: getting there..? maybe dusty for some, not the usual touristy place..?

And for all those wining and dining guests from all over the world the palace has as many as 220 lavishly decorated rooms and 22 spacious halls. The palace has some of the finest treasures collected by the Nizam. Prior permission is required to visit this palace. The Taj Group of Hotels has taken a 30+ year lease agreement to develop and manage the Nizam's Falaknuma Palace as a heritage resort. I really do not think this place should be made into money-making property for the global consumerist hotel chains of India. What is required is a national heritage trust to preserve and educate the visitors that come to find out about Hyderabad’s glorious past. Advantages: Big, friendly, exotic, friendly, cheap, friendly.
Disadvantages: Pollution and sense distortingly weird traffic

You’ve left Europe behind and you’ve stepped into another, older, world. Different rules apply, different customs. And that’s just the airport! Wait ‘til you get outside! Arriving in Hyderabad towards the start of the city’s business day, we were thrust directly into the maelstrom of an Indian rush hour. The cars the hotel had sent to meet my two companions and myself were tiny and apparently had no air-conditioning. They were also driven by people who seemed firmly of the belief that dying on the road would be a fine way to go, and, (to my untutored eye) they did everything in their power to make it happen. ...of four minars and a busy thoroughfare passes along. 'Hossein Sagar' is a beautified lake with a huge statue of Lord Buddha at its centre.Plenty of other historic monuments can also be visited. The Salar Jung Museum is a marvel collection of the erstwhile nawabs of Hyderabad.One of the rare collections is a 'Veiled Rebecca'statue which is a poem in stone.Thousands of other rare collections can also be seen. Beyond the city limits,Ramoji Film City shines as a modern masterpiece of technology as applied to movies. Hyderabad provides all amenities to a tourist.....International Standard Hotels,Well built and maintained roads,availability of Car rentals,vicinity to Nagarjunsagar Dam,Beautiful Port city of Vishakhapatnam,The borra Caves and the picturesque Araku Valley.
