Advantages: Close to Shops, Pier, BIC, lovely food Disadvantages: Some receptionists are a bit stroppy
Willsmj wrote an opinion on ciao about this hotel in August this year. By this time my Mum, Dad and I had already booked a five day / four night stay in the hotel from 5th – 9th December. I must admit that reading his opinion did place doubts in our mind and we were extra careful about the correspondence that went between the Hotel and ourselves – and this was just as well!
The issues: Every three months we stay in Bournemouth for varying amounts of time. Normally our Christmas stay is affected by the fact that so many Christmas parties are taking place and invariably the residents of Bournemouth hotels are shoved into a corner with the rowdy partygoers and condemned to a meal of Turkey. When we had a delightful lunch at the Hermitage in July we therefore took the opportunity to grab a brochure and upon our return home we ...
Advantages: location Disadvantages: staff at meal times
I regularly take long weekends away with my wife, and usually choose Bournemouth. Each time we try out different hotels, and recently chose Th HermitageHotel.
What a location. It is right next to the pleasure gardens on one side, facing the front is the beach and pier area, and to the other side is the Bournem, outh International Centre, with its array of facilities and bars and swimming pool etc. Not to mention the town centre shops are only a two minute stroll through the park. This location could not be better.
We arrived on a Friday evening and was greeted by a lady receptionist who was very pleasant. One thing I distinctly remember was that my wife ordered a daily paper for our room.
Saturday morning and no paper outside the room. Paper thief I thought, and did not make a fuss. Off we went to the dining room for breakfast ...
Advantages: Just across the road from the BIC Disadvantages: Bournemouth eing a bit hilly
We stayed at The HermitageHotel in Bournemouth for one night, we found that all the staff were attentive and helpful. We had coffee down stairs in the lounge section greeted by a smiling waiter (nothing seemed too much trouble ) then went shopping. We had a three course meal in the evening before we went to see a show at the BIC the eveing meal was excellent ( better than some of the restaurants in the area ) again the staff were attentive but not over powering we did not feel rushed but enjoyed the atmosphere. The room was clean and up to date, the television only picked up 4 channels when there was suppose to be more. We had breakfast in the morning good food but have had better, i feel that maybe a self service of the whole service would be better. Overall we enjoyed the stay and will be going back when we see another show that we ...
