firstly I should say that we had a brilliant holiday here , we are 2 adults and 2 children aged 3 and 5 .
1. The room: we booked a 'family Den room' but the only difference we could see is that we had bunk beds for the kids instead of a pullout sofa bed . The room was large and clean, ( cleaned daily) It comprised of a bathroom to the left on entry with shower over a fair sized bath , then the main bedroom with huge bed , then sliding doors to the kids room with a balcony after that. it is not practical if you want to use the balcony for anything other than drying swimming stuff as we would wake the kids . people we spoke to had the same room size for 3 teenage kids and said they couldn't get to the balcony. Also note , the corridors are very noisy at night and echo the noise of people knocking on doors , running up and down etc we were woken at 1 am quite frequently!
2. Food: Plentiful , you could never go hungry in this place ! the choice was good and the quality good too . It was impossible not to find something that you fancied . However the main restaurant was very busy during dinner and the noise was off putting from so many people in one place ( we sat outside for every meal and although hot it was worth the peace . Lunch is served in the pool restaurant and is even more manic than dinner , head for the chill-out bar and pancake house for toasties / pancakes to avoid the crush . Ice cream was served for 2 hours only 3-5 pm and there was a fair queue throughout . the young male they had serving it was really miserable and really let the rest of the staff down .
Pool: Really big pools , with plenty of swimming space . the main pool closed once in 2 weeks and the 'Jacuzzi pool' once due to "accidents" ( please take swim nappies ) . Our 5 year old got a ear infection and a party of 9 we spoke to had 7 ear infections! take ear plugs for swimming . The is literally thousands of sun-loungers and the reviews about people putting towels out in the early hours is true , it seemed normal for people to get up at 5 am to get a sun-lounger ( however then not sit on them until 1 pm !! crazy crazy people . if people just put towels down when used there would be no issue . We usually headed for the kids pool at about 8.30 to put out our towels and usually didn't have a problem getting 2/3 loungers and a parasol.
Beach: Huge and very very hot . couldn't stand on the sand , played for 2 hours one day building sandcastles , got burnt . nothing really on the beach , No bar / toilets or facilities.
Kids Clubs: Both ours were in 'Little stars' and went once a day for 1hr 1/2. Kids enjoyed them although 5 year old was a bit bored and really needed the next group up . Cant fault the kids club staff / entertainment team , they work tirelessly to entertain from 10 am to midnight , never a chance for boredom or for that matter a minutes peace .
Location : no way we were walking to Serigerme it was 40C and taxi was only 10tl (£3.50) there is a great restaurant/ bar called 'the street' with a small pool and diving board that kept the kids entertained .
Trips/ excursions . Spa ( In hotel) good but expensive , will try and sign you up to a course of treatments , beware. Mud baths ( half day) great trip plenty of time to enjoy the mud and sulpher pools , a few 'stops' to get your wallet emptied along the way . Eco -adventure ( full day) quite simply brilliant . a full day having a huge water-fight on the back of a jeep . 2 hours speed boat trip ( from beach not 1st choice) brilliant also , cave swimming , cliff jumping etc . loved this trip .
I could go on and on about this place , If you are going and you want to ask something particular then please ask .
Room Tip: Try and get a corner room away from main thoroughfares to cut out the noise, its that busy though th... See more room tips Stayed August 2013, travelled with family
