Trekked around the TorresDel Paine National park as part of "Trek Patagonia" a charity trek organised by Mencap. I had always wanted to visit Chile and was able to combine raising over £3,000 for Mencap with seeing one of the most beautiful areas of Southern Chile.
The park is a few hours drive from Punta Arenas which is one of the last stops before polar expeditions and the local wildlife includes penguins.The park is well organised with several camp areas and provision huts. We had local trek leaders with each group and all fitness levels were catered for. The trek to the 3 peaks was hampered by cloud, but the best part for me was a trek to the Grey Glacier. Flight
2 and a half hours with First Choice was short and on time so really good as I hate flying!!
Transfer
From Malaga airport it takes about half an hour to transfer to the hotel, it is on the outskirts of Benalmadena.
Check-in
If you fill out the registration form on your transfer it is quick and easy. The staff were curtious and pleasant at all times.
Hotel set half way between Benalmadena and Fuengirola and not good for a stroll into either, its too far from both ,catch a bus!

We stayed in this hotel for a few days while on a little tour of the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico, including visits to Cancun (don't bother), Playa del Carmen & Cozumel (much better) and the amazing ancient Mayan ruins at Uxmal, Chitzen Itza and Tulum. (I'll try and get round to reviewing all these later...)
We arrived by taxi from Merida airport (a short journey), having flown in from Cancun, where we had arrived in Mexico the day before, and were delighed with what we found, a massive improvement of the brash touristy-ness of Cancun !
