...Most people know New York City as the city that never sleeps or the big apple. Whatever you name New York City it is the largest city in America and has much to offer visitors all around the world. Traveling to New York gave me the opportunity to explore this wonderful City. There is so much to do and see that I was never bored. Travelling through New York is easy as most places are within walking distance and if not you can get a tube or bus.
There are many hotels to choose from and finding the right one can be a difficult choice. We chose The WellingtonHotel. I thought it was the right decision when I booked it and as soon as I saw the hotel I knew I had made the right decision. The outside of the hotel looks impressive and you can see the lights from Times Square which is really cosy and inviting.

...We chose the HotelIbis Amsterdam Westcorner for a weekend trip to Amsterdam.
The HotelIbis Westcorner is located in Westpoort, to the north-west of the city centre. Because of this it probably isn't too popular with tourists who prefer central locations. However, it is very easy to get to - just take the train to Sloterdjik station, 6 minutes and one stop away from Amsterdam Centraal Station. Almost every train west from Amsterdam stops there, so you can get back late at night without any problems, and it's also relatively cheap, at under 2 Euros one-way. There is also a bus, but we didn't try it. Actually, we found the tyrain station by trial and error - when we asked the hotel staff how to get in to the centre, they didn't even mention it, and we had trouble navigating to it from the hotel, as Westpoort is a district of tall...

...We are just back from 4 nights in The WellingtonHotel. We booked it back in Jan'07 thru an online hotel booking site (I may have mentioned it in other reviews) We also booked flights directly with BA thru their website.
We had stayed in NewYork about 2 years ago in a YMCA in the upper westside. However as my oldies were coming with us we had to book a hotel.
We booked a suite at The Wellington for around £780 for 4 adults for 4 nights and the BA flights from ABZ cost around £1,200 for the 4 of us.
We arrived at JFK around 1600hrs and after clearing immigration and a lenghty taxi journey we arrived at the hotel about 1800hrs.
The hotel looked impressive from outside, the lights of Times Square were visable from the front door. The reception area is very nice, a huge chandalier greets you. The reception desk is small and quite...

The Ibis, Plymouth is without doubt a very nice place to stay. It is certainly better than Travel Lodge/ Travel Inn and cheaper.
The Ibis is easy to find as it is on the main dualcarriageway when entering the city. It is also on a hill so you can... more
One of the most annoying things about the fact that my parents left Hong Kong is that now I have nowhere to stay for free when I pop up there. Of course, there are always friends to stay with, but considering that the average HK flat is the size of an... more
I'm a big fan of Ibis hotels and stay in them for both business and pleasure. I had, however, read a bad opinion of the London Euston branch, so when I found myself needing to stay in Euston the other night it was with slight trepidation that I booked... more
