Cheap for a reason!
The first thing was the lift was out of order, and of course we were on the top floor. On our way upto the room we were told our phone wasn't working. The rooms have old single glazed windows, and as the tram passes by the hotel this is noisy. The bathroom had flaking paint ... Read review

The Hotel is centrally located and the tram (metrolink) is outside the door. Situated on the edge of Manchester's famous Gay Village. (Please note the hotel attracts a large gay customer base at weekends) Manchester Apollo is less than half a mile away and the MEN Arena is only four tram stops. All room prices include Full English or Continental Breakfast which offers a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, croissants and toast all served in our dining room. The Hotel Bar is open most evenings at surprisingly reasonable prices. At present we do not have any designated non smoking rooms.

...the tram passes by the hotel this is noisy. The bathroom had flaking paint on the ceiling and the shower head was mouldy. TV had channels 1-4 .
When we got into the hotel we found the bar was shut for an hour (11-12) and we were planning on having a nightcap, couldn't get room service because the phone didn't work.
Didn't make it to breakfast because of the poor sleep.
Don't park in NCP car park next to the hotel because it's expensive and the ...

...The exciting first weekend away with my new lovely boyfriend, where did we go? Up to Manchester, staying in the Malmaison hotel in Piccadilly, Manchester city centre. A good location for the shops and nightlife.
It is a stunning looking hotel both externally and internally. Extremely modern and eye-catching. Inside the décor is quite gothic in taste, but in a sexy, french style. Black marble, red and purple fabrics and features.
The double standard room we stayed in was large and the bed was even bigger! It had all of the usual bits and bobs, but also includes a massively stocked minibar with several bottles of Malmaison own wine, chocolate and jelly beans! A smart little CD player was a great extra too.
The bar had great snack food and seductive cocktails and friendly staff. We didn’t experience the in-house restaurant...

...The Acton Court Hotel is well known to past and present residents of Stockport. It is situated on the busy A6 road opposite Stockport Grammar and has been the location for many a wedding (including quite a few Coronation Street fictional affairs and my own very real Wedding breakfast), as well as party nights, funeral teas, murder mystery weekend, you name it. As a family, we have had many a "do" in this hotel. The hotel claims it is ten minutes to ManchesterInternational Airport, although I am not sure what mode of transport this relates to!
Location wise, the hotel is in a great spot, there are plenty of restaurants and bars within easy reach whether you go south or north, and it is very easy to find. There is also ample parking for this 35 bedroom hotel.
We didn't actually choose to stay here this weekend, as we needed...

I stayed at the Tulip Inn (Trafford Centre) early in August as the Arctic Monkeys were playing at Lancashire Cricket Ground.
When we arrived the car park was quite full but had plenty of spaces, even though the hotel very obviously very busy.
