What we got was a lobby full of arriving coach parties four deep at reception, complete with kids who'd upped the decibel level to max. One seemingly recently recruited receptionist was attempting to cope with a series of double bookings and cancellations. When we finally got to the desk there was much consternation about our internet reservation (through asiatravelmart.com, ... ...of the world) and our print-out confirmation was regarded with a mix of distaste and bemusement. The room had cost around £30 for a night - pretty good for the date and the promised 4 star opulence. Expedia is currently shifting them for £73 upwards though you can book any number of better, 5 star monoliths (KL has excess capacity for most of the year save for holidays and the Grand Prix) for less.
