Hotel La Sorgente, Lake Como

Disadvantages: Cheap, poor quality meals

...I appreciate others may have had a great time at this hotel but my personal experience was very poor. We visited the restaurant at the Hotel Metropole and were served a square slab of pizza as if it had come from a budget frozen food store. The pizza was cold with some tinned mushrooms, ham & tomato thrown on top. When we complained about this the staff were unwilling to help. Eventually they reheated the pizza to within an inch of its life. When we refused to pay for this poor quality food, the best they could offer was a threat to call the police and abuse of my wife and I. My advice - Avoid this hotel at all costs. There are far better places on Lake Como with "Real" Italian food, served by staff who appreciate their customers.... Read review

...For all of you that have been to Lake Vyrnwy you will know what I mean when I say what a wonderful, peaceful, magical place it is, and for those of you that have not been , , , I can only say you are missing out! The Lake vyrnwy Hotel is situated in the heart of Mid Wales near the shropshire border of a town named oswetsry. High up on the rocks it sits over looking the lake and tower. It has some spectacular rooms including facilities to host a wedding with it's very own bridal suit. It has a lovely restaurant that over looks the lake and is beautiful to sit in on a summers night, the food in the restaurant is outstanding with friendly local staff waiting on( well worth a visit). There is also a tavern which does standard bar meals and also has a dining area overlooking the lake which again on a summer night is spectacular... Read review

...A nice small friendly family run hotel in simirone on lake garder as a nice surprise my boyfriend oh now now my future husband took me away and this is where we stayed a lovey view a great place a romantic setting but oh watch the biting flies at night i got bit the hotel has three floors each with so many bedrooms we were on the first floor in a nice room with a double bed well two singles made into one there was a wardrobe and dressing table also and one chair we had a nice balcony with a view over the car park but there are rooms with views over the pool and the lake, there is also free soap and shower gel in the bathroom there are towels but there like sheets really thin cotton but the rooms are clean and cleaned daily. the food well some complained it was not anoth but there was a choice each day for the breakfast...
